Hi SKMcconnel,
Do you know of any change on your system from day to day?
That reference - L"Buffer is too small && 0" - is not one that I've run into with FSCaptain before. A cursory Google search shows lots of unrelated situations. Literally, no ideas here....
Could you zip and email us your \FSCaptain\Data\Logs\ folder contents? We are about to go fairly dark for a few weeks, so we will try to come up with an answer as soon as we can.
Regards,

Problem: FSX Steam Edition Crashes when ACARS installed in a plane. Hi There, I noticed when I install acars into the plane, everything just slows down and eventually crashes FSX. When I uninstall ACARS into that plane, everything works smoothly again. Any ideas on this problem? Also had that fscaptain.dll error where all I had to do is to delete from registry It works perfectly fine without addons however when I add the a couple of addons GSX,Active Sky Next,FTX Global ORBX thats when the issue happens/ Here are my specs: i7 quad core @ 3.5ghz 16gb ram Pure SSD Windows 10 Have a feeling that it has something to do in Windows 10, but thanks in advance!!

Hi Flyboy,
We'd like to see your entire \FSCaptain\Data\Logs\ folder. Could you ZIP and email that folder to us?
We may need more information later, but this is our standard starting position.

Hi Travis,
Thanks for your quick response! Really appreciate it. I found a workaround - when the aircraft loads, it lags like crazy and eventually crashes. The solution - open ACARS and login. Removes the lag and makes fsx works perfectly.
Is there a specific log file you would specifically need to check as to something to add in the next release? There may be a few other users with this issue as well?
Thanks,

Flyboy, Do I understand you that if you launch FSX-SE there is a lot of lag... but if you open the FCDU and login then the lag goes away? That's odd and that shouldn't be. And I don't recall any others with a similar issue. But we'll take a look.... Try this please. Start up FSX-SE with an aircraft that has the FCDU gauge installed. Let it sit for a minute or so on the ramp and if the FPS is really bad, then open the FCDU gauge and wait a minute. See if the FPS changes. If not, then power up the FCDU and wait another minute. If the FPS is still bad, then press the OFFLINE LSK and wait a minute. Stop the flight and take the new FCDU log file and send it to us along with a description of how the simulator "felt" after each stage - even if the "lag" stopped at a certain stage. Repeat the same process except use the LOGIN LSK and send that FCDU log to us along with its own description. OFFLINE and LOGIN take two separate paths, and certain things occur when one path is active or the other. It's tough to tell without the log details.... Regards,

Travis,
The problem seemed to go away by itself. One thing i did was recreating the airline + pilot. Lagged a couple of times and eventually resolved itself (i know odd). But if i get any more of these issues, will let you know.
Thanks a bunch! And enjoying this great product right now.

Running FSX SE. I can't get past the reconciliation screen in FCOM. Example....when using the FSX default C172 the manifest aks for 400 lbs of fuel, more than the 172 can carry and way more than the 102 lbs needed for the flight. So I select the "Aircraft is Correct" option by pressing F1. Then the manifest wants 500lbs of fuel and aks for another 100 lbs every time I press f1. There is never any reconciliation so the flight never gets off the ground.
Where have I gone wrong?

PS - About the previously posted reconciliation problem I failed to make clear the the problem seems to be peculiar to the FSX default C172. It hasn't happened with other aircraft.

Hi Fechols,
that sounds like a configuration problem. Can you send us (click on the blue text below) a zip file containing your FSCaptain\Data\Logs directory, your FSCaptain\Aircraft directory and the aircraft.cfg file of your airplane model in FSX\Simobjects\Airplanes ? Please send it to everyone in the team and copy the html address of this thread in your message so that all of us can think about this.
Cheers, Peter

Hi Fechols,
I've been working with the default C172 today (it being my R/W aircraft of choice) and while I've made changes to the fuel values, I am not held up at the reconciliation screen.
As Peter asked, please send us your FSCaptain\Data\Logs and your FSCaptain\Aircraft directories, as well as your recent FCDU log files. They should contain many data items that we would need to triage your issue.

Hi Fechols,
it appears you are using the old FCOM interface instead of the FCDU. The FCOM interface is quite outdated and only included for compatibility reasons. I suggest to use the FCDU. Let us know if the FCDU works on your system.
Cheers, Peter
