Guys
Here's another angle to ponder. I had used FDCU initially and had the reconciliation problem with it. I switched to FCOM to see if it would work better, which it didn't. At your advising I just put FDCU back in figuring it wouldn't hurt to try it again. I've tried it on a couple of flights and it has worked perfectly so far.
Nothing else in my installation has changed since I used it before, at least not so far as I know.
So now I'm going get some flights in, finally, and if it acts up again I'll let you know.
Maybe I'll fool around the CFG files (after backing up of course) and see if I can recreate the issue. But not right now.
Thanks!

Hi Fechols, I'm glad that it seems to work now. Sometimes, FSCaptain needs to see a plane in action in order to recognize it. In other words, it can make a difference if you just hop in the plane, start a flight and switch on the FCDU. Maybe that's what happened here Happy Flying, Peter

Hi
I think I have figured out it was my fault. In trying to recreate it I see it happen if the fuel to reach the destination, fuel to reach the alternate and required fuel reserve total more than the aircraft can carry. Obviously you can't reconcile that. In my ignorance of all things related to flying I didn't know there was a required fuel reserve. That's why they call us novice.

Hi Fechols, I would actually think that FSCaptain should catch that. However, as the FCOM is not further developed, it might have just be an old bug. In any way, good that things work now Cheers, Peter

Hi Fechols,
Those fuel policy requirements were introduced in the past year - all in efforts to make the ACME system "more realistic" by enforcing domestic FAA policy - FAR 121. (In the future, FSCaptain will offer alternate civil aviation authority policies once we have everything modeled.)
The ACME system wants to allow all Captains the freedom to fly the chosen aircraft to wherever possible. In real life, you can't fly a wheeled aircraft to Lake Berryessa (E20), you can't book an international flight to or from airports without Customs Services, but you should be able to fly a Cessna 208 (with appropriate ferry fuel tanks) from the US to Canada, thence to Greenland and Iceland, and thereafter on to continental Europe and to Africa or Asia (and then to Nome, Alaska with properly sized tanks, etc.).
I can see the situation that you've presented should be handled differently - Fuel/Payload reconciliation should stop at the point where the aircraft's tanks are full, and the Captain should then be given the choice of go-as-you-are or no-go.
1.7.2 Release Candidate 4 has vastly improved Fuel calculations over the current 1.7.1 Public Release version, but it still doesn't account for this situation - if your Dispatch Release says you need more fuel than the aircraft can carry, the FCDU may try to force that onto your aircraft. Development will slow over the next few weeks as both Dutch and I will be travelling, but we will address this once we're back and coding again.
Regards,

Hello,
have problem with installation of FSC on FSX SE.
I loaded 1.7.4 version from homepage. Install it to C:\Program Files (x86)\Steam\steamapps\common\FSX and start Admin.exe
First problem with dll.xml. In %appata% create FSX folder and put there file from FSX-SE. Now i can start admin.exe. It's ok. After that i make a copy from FSX folder to FSX-SE. When start FSX, game found dll. Checked. Start "free fly", have FSC in add-ons menu, but cell "Use administrator" doesn't work, like a FCDU and other commands. At this time FCDU.exe can start from Win and work!
Second: Can't install FCDU to aircrafts with installer.exe. In Panel.cfg look like:
//-------------------------------------------------------- [Window06] size_mm=191,445 position=8 visible=0 ident=24477 type=special gauge00=FCDUB!ACARS,1,1,191,445
[Window07] size_mm=102,103 position=2 visible=0 BACKGROUND_COLOR=0,0,0 ident=COMPASS_PANEL no_luminous=1 gauge00=KingAir!Magnetic-Compass, 0, 0, 102, 103
//--------------------------------------------------------
In the sim panles work like default, without change, standart gauges like compass or something.
Anyway Addon very interesting for me. But in that case i can't use that. I am tryed latest Beta version. Its work better but without gauges FCDU anyway.
Bad english sorry.

Hello Corax,
welsome to the FSCaptain forum. It sounds like something went wrong during the installation, we can have a look at what is going wrong. Can you send us (see blue link below) a zip file with your FSCaptain\Data\Log folder? Please send the email to all of us and copy the address of this thread into your message so that everyone on the FSCaptain team knows what the logs are for.
Cheers, Peter

Hi all!
Problem was solved! If early you was have box-version, now you need cahnge registry key "Co-Existence" to 0 of steam version at
HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\Microsoft Games\Flight Simulator - Steam Edition Now FSX-SE will use for config files at %appdata% (C:\Users\[Your user]\AppData\Roaming\Microsoft\) default folder FSX, not FSX-SE.
My second problem with gauges: Reason is DLC from Steam - 3D Light Redux Addon. With this addon FSX take panel.cfg from: C:\Program Files (x86)\Steam\steamapps\common\FSX\DLC\379233\SimObjects\Airplanes\[aircraft folder]\panel In that case you need change that panel.cfg manually.

Hi Corax,
great that you could resolve the issue. We discussed your problems, but Dutch and Travis were busy with the release of 1.8.0.
It appears your second problem is resolved as well?
Cheers, Peter

Hey everyone, I need some help or if anyone has some inside as to why my FSX steam has a micro stuttering as soon as I login when I’m on the a/c. Also when I’m using the gauge installer the installer constantly tells me a error, but still takes me to the installer and installs the gauge. I have noticed that’s it’s mostly when the gauge is installed that the micro stuttering happens, but I read that it barely uses any or at all computing. I noticed also that fscaptain says the fscaptain.dll file is missing, but it’s not I found the file. Here’s my mistake I may have deleted the log files when I completely removed FSX and fscaptain. because I thought it was all my sceneries but that’s was not the case the micro stuttering still comes up when I removed along with the other issues. If anyone can help, I truly enjoy this product a lot. It has added so much depth and enjoyment to FSX but these micro stutters are making the simulator experience awful.

Hi Jskillz,
welcome to the FSCaptain forum. When working properly, FSCaptain uses hardly any system resources indeed. Hence, your micro stutters must originate from a bad installation. If you get a message that the FSCaptain.dll file is missing, it may not be installed at the correct location. If I remember correctly, it has to be in the Gauges or Modules folder of FSX. The files in the FSCaptain library are only used in P3D, I believe. This may hint at the possibility that you may have installed a 64-bit version of FSCaptain, which would not work with FSX as the latter is a 32-bit program.
Since you deleted your log files (They would be in FSCaptain\Data\Logs\), we have no chance to see what is going wrong. It might be best if you reinstall FSCaptain: - First, make a backup copy of your existing installation by copying the FSCaptain directory to some location outside of FSX. - Then run "Uninstall FSCaptain.exe", which should be located in your main FSX folder. If there is no file like that, delete the FSX\FSCaptain folder and delete all FSCaptain files in the Gauges and Modules folders. You can see which files these are by following the procedure on page 10 of the user guide. - Then download the latest 32-bit version of FSCaptain and reinstall the program.
Let us know if this helps, Peter

Hey peter, thanks for responding quickly. Things have become a bit worse now. I am struggled for a while to reinstall and when I used the software the stuttering still happened. I have some log files and i have reinstalled and installed the software a couple of times. I do choose the 32 bit file and when I run registry fixer fscaptain.dll ignorefree library value. Also for some odd reason now the fscaptain admin is zoomed in and not sure how to work around that.
