Hmm, it's a buffer error and your FCOM cannot find the DLL. I've sent you a link to a copy of the DLL. If it still does not work with the FCOM, could you please try it with the FCDU? Otherwise, Dutch (who is a lot more FS9 savvy) will have to take this....

Hi there... I have the same problem as described in this post. Yesterday everything was working fine. Today I started the FSX:SE like normal and I got the message "Flight Simulator has detected a problem with a third-party software program(Add-on)". Then it shows the FSCaptain and the file FScaptain\bin\FSCaptain.dll
I get the option to run this software, when I do FS crashes. If I dont I cant use the FSCaptain. I tried the options mentioned in this post. But nothing seems to work.
I hope you can solve this..

Hi Melle, this is a problem with Simconnect that affects many addon programs. Fortunately, one of our users (Leen) found a way to fix this. You may find his post at fscaptain.proboards.com/post/15060/threadLet us know if that helps. Cheers, Peter

Thanks for the answer. I did the steps like described in the post. But then my search in the registry crashed. Tried a reg cleaner, but did not help. Checked a few google pages.. Nothing worked.. So now im going to reinstall my computer. I guess it was time anyway

Ooops, I am sorry that this happened to you. On a positive note, I had that problem, too, and it disappeared after I upgraded to Windows 10, so a reinstall will probably deal with this issue.
Best, Peter

Peter, Travis. I want to thank you for your concern about this issue. I am able to run the program all be it without the addon menu. everything works okay as long as on the opening screen I say not to run the third party addon "fsx/fscaptain/bin/fscaptain.dll. It is strange, that when I delete fscaptain.dll from the fsx.cfg trusted area, and start FSX and when the third party thing comes up I say yes, and then it asks me if I want to run (yes) and then (trust) FSX crashes. Open again and say no and everything works except addon menu. FSX.CFG does then show FScaptain.dll in the trusted section. Anyway everthing else works. This is the same issue that I am having... certainly not ideal but still functional. ~B~

AGAIN! After doing a fresh install 172_RC1, 'cannot find a dll.xml file in this location' and it's pointing to P3D v2 and not v3.
This program starts to irritate me, because it didn't work 100% since I bought it.
Could someone please help me?
Thanks,
Pim

Captains,
Please ZIP and email us your most recent ADMIN and FCDU log files and we will use them to diagnose your situations.
Also in your email, please indicate the simulators that are installed on your PC. (FS9, FSX, FSX-SE, P3D2, P3D3)
Regards,

Hi Travis,
sorry to reopen this issue, but I'm suffering multiple crashes due to FSCaptain.dll (latest version 1.7.2) to the point that it is starting to be impossible for me to finish a flight (it crashes FSX at least 2 or 3 times during 1 hour). I did not experience those crashes before updating to 1.7.2.
Error messages from the windows log:
Faulting application name: fsx.exe, version: 10.0.61472.0, time stamp: 0x475e17d3 Faulting module name: FSCaptain.dll_unloaded, version: 1.7.2.0, time stamp: 0x575b87f0 Exception code: 0xc0000005 Fault offset: 0x00001070 Faulting process id: 0x2e88 Faulting application start time: 0x01d26751bccf0856 Faulting application path: C:\Microsoft Flight Simulator X\fsx.exe Faulting module path: FSCaptain.dll Report Id: 42cd5b52-ee24-46ef-9fe6-0096c4a99636 Faulting package full name: Faulting package-relative application ID:
I will try updating to a beta to see if it fixes something...
