Travis is currently dealing with some personal issues. Progress with the MSFS beta version is therefore slower than anticipated.

"Personal issues".... - A leg infection which kept me away from keyboard for over a month.
- Ant invasion!
- PC chair broken.
- Ant invasion #2!
Anyway... there's been no progress in testing since late July. A few days after posting 1.8.3 w/SP, I sent a Refresh build to the MSFS Test Captains. Then my leg infection occurred, and I've heard nothing from those testers since. Since then, Peter and I came up some items to work on, and in time we hit upon a new testing scheme that we're going to roll out in a month or three... Full Public Testing. Once he and I have a build that's good enough to release to the Public, we will post a Full Installer that will be limited to an FCDU.EXE. (Along with an Administrator, and a SceneryScanner of course.) I'm thinking this will occur mid-December to mid-January, but that will rely on our internal testing.
Best regards,

Travis, Peter & Dutch!
I am one of the dissapointers! And I have been a most vocal apologist for FSC on Avsim and other forums and yet I have dropped the beta ball bigtime. I was into testing it for a while but it had so far to go I let myself become disengaged with it. Then, I had to do a complete fresh Win 10 and MSFS install. When the Public Beta debuts I will come back and revisit if you could please include me I would to see the progress!
Get Well Soon Travis!!!!

Great to hear you guys are working on updating it to MSF2020. I will definitely buy it since I was a very happy user back in the older version. Looking forward for it

Noel, As I've learned to reply over the past few months, "I'm doing much better than when we last spoke." Things are moving slowly on the MSFS front. After I finally installed Standard, I noticed that the default airports no longer had "airport names" so I spent time on a bandaged workaround for that until whomever is in charge of such things fixes them.
Otherwise I've been building up the "My Fleet" files that are necessary to deploy on a fresh install, and trying to find an aircraft which will finally accept a command to do something.
Apart from MSFS-only work, I'm finally getting to a small feature that I've wanted for years - the Runway Details (and Selector) screen. I can only spend an hour or two each day behind the keyboard, so progress is slow but very steady. (I spend more time thinking about what to code next than I used to, with a good result to the coding.)
Best,

Hello Israel, We're still a few months out from any Alpha for MSFS, and we haven't decided anything on the cost (if any!). We've never charged for updates, but I can see that before all is said and done that I might have to bring on a "contract worker" for something I'm going to keep vague about for now. Best,

How is the MSFS SDK coming along? I remember seeing that it's not quite as up to speed as FSX... still the case or have they improved it?

MJL, I literally have no idea on any changes over the last 3-4 months. I've been busy with coding 1.8.4, real-world "life", and sporadic customer issues to focus on this very much. I read things from Dutch and Peter when they notice things, but I can't deep-dive on MSFS SDK until I've finished with 1.8.4. I'll answer the rest of your latest posts over the weekend. Best regards,

Thanks for your loyal custom!!!
We're still working on 1.8.4 for 9/X/P and will move to MSFS after 1.8.4 releases. It's been a long Spring, and I can't wait to move through all of the items which Dutch and Peter are making notes. It appears that some things are getting easier to handle....
Best,

Hi, just looking for an update on the MSFS port. If there is any beta I would like to be a part of it. There's been no extra work on an MSFS version before now. I'm still working on changes for 1.8.4, and when that's final I will start branching off for MSFS support. Work is slow mainly because the older I get, the slower I get and both Dutch's and Peter's employment is taking up a good chunk of what would be their FSCaptain testing time. I am looking for other "primary testers" and I believe that I have one for the SC-32 build. Also, there may be some minor work for 1.8.4 to support P3D6. I have deliberately avoided most discussion of it so I don't get side-tracked now. Otherwise for 1.8.4, I've tried to squeeze in a few new ideas while there's time. Once 1.8.4 goes gold, the only new & changed features for 1.8.5 will be to better support MSFS. There's a good possibility that I may have to upgrade my development system to Visual Studio 2022 (from VS 2019), and doing that may involve some minor chafing and bruising. When it's time for a real MSFS testing build, I have a good list of Captains (including your good self) to go to. Best,

I know the last post was in July, but a discussion on runway friction values vs contamination made me remember that FSCaptain did this quite wonderfully in P3D. Did I miss the boat with any testing going on in MSFS? I'd be happy to be a part of whatever testing is going on.

BJ, Thank you for your kind thoughts about FSCaptain. There has been no work on an MSFS version, other than to make builds with the current state of 1.8.4. 1.8.4 work has gone slow at times, and has taken odd directions... fixing bugs that haven't been noticed for years, etc. Testing on 1.8.4 has stopped for the moment, due to a mix of too busy and under the weather. I'm a mixture of the two. I hope to have Alpha ready at any point now. I know I've written those words many times this year, but the bright spot is that we are getting closer to an Alpha release each day. I have you on the MSFS testers list. Maybe we'll drop a note early in 2024.... But now I have to wonder will MSFS-2023 be different enough from -2020 to warrant an additional version to support? Best,
