Yep, installing MSFS can be painful since its servers can be very slow at times. My first installation took almost an entire day. I had to do a complete reinstall after I joined a beta version, that only took about 4 hours. Regarding ATC for MSFS: I am using Pilot2ATC ( p2atc.com/ ) and am quite happy with it. There is also PF3 ( www.oncourse-software.co.uk/pf3_details.htm ), but I didn't try it in MSFS, and it has been many years since I tested it in P3D. FSHud ( www.fshud.com/ ) is a new development that has recently been released for P3D. It will be developed for MSFS as well, but the feature list is still not known.

Oh yes, took all of 9 hours to install 127 GB. It is an impressive product. There are a lot of quirks, I was taking from sedona doing one of the test flights, the first time round went fine, the second time there were actual trees on the runway, could not avoid them. Tried 2 or three times but tress kept popping up all over. Once you get in the air it is great to see all the detail. I will stick with FSX until the MSFS is ready for prime time. Will try Pilot2ATC. Thanks

Thanks That is strange, I never had trees on a runway in MSFS, only in FSX/P3D. I just checked: KSEZ looks fine on my system. Do you have photogrammetry switched on? Without it, MSFS looks very differently (worse). I do sometimes run into issues with airplanes when I do two flights in a row. Restarting MSFS helps avoiding this. Peter

It is only in the training part where you take off from Sedona.

Very strange. I just looked at the training part, looks fine for me. Having said that, I did experience other anomalies in MSFS that nobody else has: duplicate runways on some smaller airfields with custom scenery. KSEZ looks like it is not a default airport, but enhanced. Maybe you have something like I had. My problem magically disappeared after one of the smaller updates.

Hello Philippe,
nice to hear from you, all is well here. Yes, Travis is working away at a new release, but has been slowed down by some personal issues.
Cheers, Peter

Thank you very kindly for your thoughts, Philippe! I'm not as young as I used to be, and my recovery simply isn't as speedy as I thought it should be. I have more good days than not... just not as many good days as I had hoped. Best,

Emails went to MSFS Testers an hour or two ago, so things are starting to percolate a bit.
Best,

How goes the testing? Think this is the last part of what I need to finally decide to re-install MSFS now GSX is out and there's a couple of ATC options with the new (ish) Pro ATC SR (and GSX).
