Maybe this is just a minor fluke, but on a couple of flights with the Carenado B1900, I will turn on the overhead seatbelt sign in the VC while on descent and all of a sudden the belt sign will continuously go off and on throughout the descent and approach to landing...even if I have Captain controls this or that selected. I haven't gotten a penalty on this but it's annoying to hear the off and on chime throughout descent and approach. It's like the FO takes over the seatbelt sign and decides not to. Strange indeed.

That is strange. Never heard of that being reported before. Anyone else? It could be a characteristic of the airplane that it's fighting with the FO over the setting of the sign. But that shouldn't happen with CAPT BELTS.

I did a search on this forum on the weather "crash" problem that this list says is fixed, but found nothing. I just downloaded and installed the latest version, 1.5.0, as a demo, and went through all of the docs to get a feel for the software. First of all, I cannot find the airports that FSC works with in demo mode. Secondly, when I go to the Administrator and try to configure things, the program crashes when I click on the Weather Options on the "Options for All Airlines" page.
I am running FSX and the registered and up-to-date FSUIPC, along with ASN. I am running ASN but not FSX when I open the Administrator. I tried opening FSX first, but it made no difference. So what is the fix for this weather button-crashing problem? I can't wait to buy FSC, but I need to run the demo successfully a couple of times first.
Follow-up: When I run the Administrator from within FSX, the weather button works. So one potential problem side-stepped. So far, so good! Now about those demo airports...

Alas, both Travis and I have "real-life" jobs that are required to keep us and our families eating and a roof over our heads. We'd love to devote 100% of our time to FSCaptain but realistically, the income from it doesn't allow that unless one of us wins a lottery somewhere. Sometimes the real life job gets overwhelming, and in this case it's been at the same time for both of us, following some illness that was unfortunate. I am trying to catch up, both the brick-and-mortar jobs as well as FSCaptain. I'm working on packaging and testing a preliminary 1.5.1 fix, and trying for a release date of April 10th. Sorry for any frustration and/or inconvenience. Dutch Just joined the forum, Dutch, and you and Travis are doing an excellent job, IMNSHO! Don't know if you know JD over at Radar Contact, but sometimes you guys have to have a life of your own. You seem to reply fairly quickly to everything we throw at you, so relax and know that you are appreciated.

That's very kind of you Gary, thanks for the good words!
I don't "know" JD, but both Dutch & I are RC customers. (I'm always in search for the "perfect ATC" program, so I tend to try them all and use what suits my fancy for a particular flight....)

Gary, In your \FSCaptain\Data\profile.cfg file, add/edit these two lines, using your path to your ASN "current_wx_snapshot.txt" file: METARTYPE=ASN METARDATA=C:\Users\Gary\AppData\Roaming\Hifi\ASNFSX\Weather\current_wx_snapshot.txtRegards,

Travis, I actually got the weather to configure by loading the Admin from the FSX toolbar. But I double-checked, and the entry is there. Now all I have to do is wait till the correction comes out!

Very good Gary.
Once those lines are present, the Weather Options crash should be no more. (AAMOF, that's the source of the crash - missing data....)

- Incorrect identification of sim version (FS9 and not FSX).
Any news on that? Because I have this problem and consequently FSC does not work properly. At least is there a solution how to fix it manually? Thanks in advance!

If FSCaptain cannot detect SimConnect, it assumes you are running FS9. If you're running FSX, do you know the version of SimConnect that you're using??

I dont have or use simconnect. I just have an unregistered FSUIPC4.xxx
Edit: I did not know about it. I have FSX Acceleration installed, so I must have it too. Where can I check the version?

Okinii,
If you're using FSUIPC 4, then you're using FSX or P3D2. If you're using FSX or P3D2, then you're using SimConnect.
In Windows Explorer, go to your simulator's EXE file (FSX.EXE or Prepar3D.EXE) and right click it. Then go to the "Details" tab, and find the "File Version" or "Product Version" number. There you should see a 10.0.60905.0 or 10.0.61242.0 or 10.0.61259.0... or 2.3.11345.0... or something else entirely. That would tell us the version of SimConnect that you're using.

10.0.61637.0
Edit: When I not open the external FCDU before I start FSX, it won't work. When I open the FCOM inside FSX it shows FS9, but before it opens it takes a while. And it easily get stuck when it shows flight update transmitted. And if I use the external FCDU it has no sounds, just the button sounds.
