Not sure if this has been mentioned already, but would it be possible to add two more buttons (that also light up) to the FCOM - Seatbelts and No Smoking. So when the aircraft Seatbelts and No Smoking signs are switched on, if the FCOM recognises them then the FCOM buttons also light up. If the FCOM buttons remain off when the aircraft switches are turned on, then we would know immediately that the FCOM is not recognising those aircraft switches and we can then press the buttons on the FCOM instead (which would then light up) and FSC would then know we've turned them on. I know there are toggle seatbelts and no smoking options within FCOM but these are buried deep in the menu system (F3 F2 F2 F1 F1) and not easy to get to quickly. It would be useful to see at a glance whether FCOM thinks we have the signs on or not.

Wellington, For now, it should be possible to add these extended FS Captain switches overlaying (or adacent to) your FCOM: gauge##=FCOMPNL!Seatbelts1, 10,10,25,25 gauge##=FCOMPNL!Smoking1, 10,40,25,25
They're fairly small so unless you've already dressed up the spare sections of you FCOM you could try pasting them onto it. Fair warning - I've not used these gauges, so for all I know there's no on/off feedback which would not be terribly useful for you. However I now sport the Acme Warning gauge on my FCOM and it's right nice there. gauge06=FCOMPNL!Acme_Warning, 240, 254,60,30

Thanks Travis. I see there's a 'Seatbelt XML File' thread in the general discussion area covering this so I'll give it a try and see how it goes.
