A quick question. I had what I thought was a fairly legthy taxi out at EGGD. So not that long after take-off and during climb I did a block revision. As it turned out I didnt need it - for just about the first time ever my initial block time was very generous - I arrived very early. However I got an entry in my flight log that I havnt seen before - "Not on time with block revision". Are there set times when I am allowed to request block revisions ? thanks. Wombat32

Hi Wombat, Please send me your FCDU log and I will give you details on what transpired. But I have a good general answer for your question. First, as to what likely happened: You arrived "not on time" (likely early) and you used a "block revision". As to your question about "when am I allowed to request" it's at most any point until you reach your airlines "Deny block revision this close" distance. Please know that's probably not a precise limit. I personally have a 100% on-time record so it's difficult for me to test the concept of not arriving on time. Best,

Hi Travis, Yes I ended up very early ! Until then I was regularly struggling to achieve block times mainly I think because using PATCX for flight planning etc I was seeing some very lengthy SIDs and STARs. Throw in departure queues (try leaving EGPH (Edinburgh) without a queue of at least 4 departures plus inbounds). However on this comparatively short flight I found myself with block time that turned out to be much too big. I will have another look at the DO228's 'characteristics' now that I have more data re actual performance. Log emailed. Thanks, Mike
