A query on how FCDUs deal with TAs. Just flown from EGPD (TA=6000ft) to EGPE (TA=3000ft). The FCDU log shows :
FCDU.GAU:: 21:18:16 CAUTION - Altimeter not set to standard @ Lat 57.695926 Long -3.294565 Altitude 5847 Indicated 5780 Altimeter 1010 FCDU.GAU:: 21:18:28 PENALTY - Altimeter not set to standard @ Lat 57.702388 Long -3.309510 Altitude 5647 Indicated 5580 Altimeter 1010 This is my descent into EGPE but EGPE has a TA of 3000ft so I dont understand why the FCDU is 'concerned' when I am still c3000ft above EGPE's TA ? As my knowledge of this subject is very limited can someone explain where I am going wrong ? thanks, Wombat32

Hi Mike, Please send your FCDU logs for this flight and I'll tell you what happened. (This is literally a stock answer from me.) LOL I would also like to see your Dispatch Release for this flight, so please also include that. You can find the Dispatch Release in your \FSCaptain\Data\Manifests\ folder and it will have the filename format of "[airline short name]_release_[flight number]_[destination ID]".txt. Best,
