Hello everyone
I recently bought FSCaptain and am starting to try it but I have some difficulty with the checkrides.
When I start the flight I open the FSCaptain FCDU, log in and click on flight. At this point the FCDU tells me to checkrides, but I had it set up on my company, so there are no problems so far.
I press on proceed and I head towards the runway, I make the first traffic circuit and land, but upon landing the FCDU screen changes. Now it looks like it has registered a normal flight, in fact there are no more to-do lists for the checkrides. In fact now he asks me to taxi to the parking lot, then to put the parking brakes on and then to turn off the engines.
I do this and register a flight, then restart the engines and head back to the runway head, again after having reactivated the checkrides.
In this second case I manage to perform all 7 landings, plus the other requests and I land for the eighth time with the engine fault. I go to the parking lot, save the flight records and close.
Later when I make a new flight (same company and same pilot) the FCDU asks me to checkrides making it impossible for me to do a normal flight.
I am already 3/4 checkrides with the same plane but I can't go further. Am I doing something wrong or is there some corrupt file?
I have already tried reinstalling FSCaptain as well as resetting my PC but nothing seems to fix it.
I have FS9 and it runs on a PC with Windows 8.1, I don't know if other data is needed.
Thanks in advance for your time and your help!

Hello gabbiano, and thank you kindly for your custom with FSCaptain! It's been so long since I performed a checkride, that I cannot say if you have found a bug or not. I will assume that you have found a nasty bug. I would like to ask you to change your Airline's Checkride requirements so that this is no longer preventing you from making regular flights. First, please open your Administrator, and then click on the Airline Definitions tab. If "Checkrides are" is set to "Required," then just click on "Not Used" and finally please click the Apply button in the lower-right area of the dialog. --------
But before you make another flight, I need to ask for some log files from you so I can begin to see what's happening. To start with, go to your \FSCaptain\ folder, where you should find a folder within named \Data\. That folder has your Airline log - it's the short name of your airline (such as "Pacifica," "Lufthansa," or "Air New Zealand"). It may be a very small file at the moment.... Just add that to a ZIP file.
If there is not a ".log" file in that location with your airline's short name, please let me know that too!!
Now, please go into the \Logs\ folder inside your \Data\ folder. From this location, I would like to see all of the .log files, so please include all files you find. I will review your log files and try to make my own tests in a few days. I'm in "bugfixing mode" so now is a great time for this! With best regards,

Forgive me if I answer you only now, before relying on the forum I had done several tests and apparently I had deleted the data of my company ...
Anyway I recreated it and redid the tests, obviously with Checkride Requests. Strangely, in these attempts I can't even checkride, in this case every time I land the FCDU converts the checkride into a normal flight.
(link deleted)
In this file I have uploaded something else such as the cfg file of the aircraft I use, the files that are backed up and whatever file the program uses or has generated for the flights I have made. They certainly won't be needed for the bug, but I think it's even better to have the ability to get a bigger image with these files.
Tomorrow I will try to delete everything and then reinstall the program, to retest the checkride. But then I'll move on to the optional checkrides.
Thanks for your help

Hello Gabbiano, I am unable to complete a flight because I have PC problems. So I cannot test anything before 3-5 weeks from now - when all of the parts for my new PC arrive. Otherwise, I did not find any log files in the Drive link that you posted. I would kindly ask you to please upload your log files again to your Drive location. I can look at logs, even if I can't make a 10 minute test flight.... Best regards,

I don't think I'll be able to make a flight in the next 3-4 weeks... PC problems are keeping me on the ground... but this remains in my Big Bug List.
Best,

I have some news on my problem! After a few less than perfect flights (I was mostly getting acquainted with the various new programs and the new aircraft configurations) I deleted the airline and the pilot and recreated them.
But now I could not even make the flights because the FCDU missed the flight planned with the external program. Once it happened to me while I was in flight, I pressed a few buttons for some communication and to see a message and then I no longer had the flight data.
Then I just deleted FSCaptain and reinstalled it, but things only got worse (I can't download the program from your site) and I can't do notthing.
Eventually I gave up and poved with an existing company, and things went clean and smooth.
So I tried to recreate my company by copying another company but changing only the name, the airport and I reset the required checkride. Strange but true, the program recorded my checkride without problems and today also the first flight that I made without problems.
I also played a lot with FCDU but it didn't cancel the flight only because I pressed one key too many.
After all this I think I understand that the basic problem is the "Loading and Crew Options for ALL Aircraft and Flight" section, in fact in this case I left everything blank and I had no problems.
So I would say the fault (if it is) is in this section.
P.S.
I noticed that your site has an error in downloading packages, in fact I was forced to download it from SimMarket.
P.s.s.
After the first flight of the checkride I made a very soft landing, so after exiting the runway to realign and take off I paused the sim and saw the replay of the landing ...
Well eventually FSCaptain gave me an extra landing because it was unable to recognize the actual flight from the replay.
I don't think it is important as a bug but I will inform you anyway, especially if it creates problems with flights.

Hello Gabbiano,
I've fixed the bad download of the FS9 Installer that you encountered. Simmarket only has FSCaptain version 1.8.2, so you should try to download the 1.8.3 Fixpack from our site to get updated.
I'm glad that you found a way around your problem. I will keep an open eye to find any underlying aspects that caught you in the first place.
FSCaptain cannot know if a "flight replay" is occurring. Since we allow for Save and Restore of flights, we treat a "replay" as if it is another attempt at a real flight.
Perhaps later in the 1.8.3 Service Pack 1 release cycle I might be able to determine if a "replay" is occurring... but that is not certain.
Best regards,
