Hi all
Quick question which I couldn't find the answer to by searching ... what's the two digit number for in the top left hand corner of the FCDU? It changes colour from green to red occasionally so I'm guessing it's something I should know about.
Thanks
Mike

Hi Mike,
That number is the FCDU's "Screen". That's mainly an internal value for us... so for example "Ready to Load" is 20 and "Flight Menu" is 23. These values are for the code to know what to display, and when.
If you have the AI Freeze Ray enabled, the value goes to Red when an AI aircraft is frozen. If you have the Freeze Ray activated by your Taxi/Landing lights, the number will be Yellow when nothing is being frozen, and Red when something is.
There are some other color cues in the "header" area. Let us know if you're curious and I'll make a list of them.
Best,

Thanks Travis
I was just wondering what it was and whether it was anything that I should be doing. Thanks for the quick reply.
Cheers

Mike, After checking, I see that there's not that many of them, so here we go. (And yes, I do need to take the time to make an FCDU User Manual.... ) This is an image of my FCDU Header a month ago when I had completed pushback and had switched my taxi lights on. The Screen Number (upper left) is Yellow indicating my AI Freeze Ray is ready to stop any AI heading towards me. The upper right indicates that I'm on Page 1 of 1 of this Screen. If there were more than one Page, this value would be in Cyan if I wasn't on the final Page, or White if I were. The Time value (lower right of the Header) is White indicating FSCaptain has AutoSaved my flight in the previous 10 seconds. If I were to manually save the flight, the Time value would be Yellow for 10 seconds. That's it for the main Header items. There are color cues for the Environmental Messages which can appear between the Screen and Page numbers. Cyan means nothing critical, Yellow indicates something may need your attention soon ("Below MSD"), and Red is some type of Warning ("Collision", "Check Landing Gear", or "Cabin Emergency"). Best,
