Good afternoon, thanks to Frooglesim latest vlog I have just discovered PACX, www.tfdidesign.com/pacx.php I am considering a purchase of this exciting product, I as a log time user of your fantastic product Do you envisage a time were FSCaptain and PACX
would communicate and work together, would there be a conflict running both? Thank you in advance for any help you can offer, Regards, Guy.

Hi Guy! ( I never get tired of that.... ) PACX is a new one to me, although when I asked Dutch about PACX he was aware of it. We're always interested in interfacing with other add-ons, or at the least to learn how to stay out of their way. I'm waist-deep in working with new GSX things for a bit, but Dutch might give PACX a try and once we know what to expect, we would see what might be possible. Regards,

OK, I played a bit with PACX and FSCaptain. Both can be used simultaneously, and in conjunction with GSX. To do so, - make sure that FSCaptain's options.cfg file contains the line HONOR_OTHER_GROUND_SERVICES=2 - plan a flight in FSCaptain - start your simulator and FSCaptain. Start a flight with the FCDU but do not load pax and cargo just yet - start PACX and either set the flight details (departure, arrival, pax number , ...) manually, or enter it into a file named FlightConfiguration.xml. For details on the latter, see forums.tfdidesign.com/index.php?/topic/3800-pacx-development-and-asset-creation-guide/- start GSX and the PACX flight and load the plane. In the above configuration, FSCaptain and PACX will both have a flight attendant who makes standard announcements. To avoid duplications, you can copy one of the FSCaptain FA sound directories and delete the standard announcement sound files. Let me know if you want more details. Also, you have to be prepared that FSCaptain and PACX may independently trigger emergencies. You can avoid that by setting the probability for such events in FSCaptain to zero. Cheers, Peter

Hi Peter,
thank you for looking into PACX, I did purchase and up to now done 5 flights with FSCaptain and PACX, both have run perfectly for me with the caveat you have outlined above, thank you for the heads up work around for emergencies, it hadn't occurred to me that problem might pop up, I now have over 500 flights with captain and only ever had 1 emergency (smoooooth flying LOL)
The GSX advise also useful but at this time I don't own it (too expensive)Great support from all the FSCaptain team.
Cheers,
Guy.

Hello Guy,
great to hear that the combination works for you. If you ever get into GSX: that's really simple, you don't need to do anything more than what I wrote above. FSCaptain has some special code in it that makes sure both programs harmonize.
Cheers, Peter
