I have a few questions on using offline mode. I know offline mode allows you to still have ice build up on the aircraft (read it in the user guide, and have had it happen).
My first question is in offline mode do you still get the option on the FCDU to deice if conditions require deicing? Since I bought Fscaptain a few days ago I have not ran into any snow or ice other then for a few mins. The snow stopped about 15 mins before pushback.
In snow, ice, and or raining conditions where contaminated runways can degrade braking. I have that checked in my hazard options. I just am not sure if that is active in offline mode.
I am currently in route as CX 865 JFK to YVR in a pmdg 773. I was going to use Fscaptain for that flight, but I was having problems with it telling me it only seats 78 people. I messed around with it for a few minutes and will look at the user guide in the morning to see if I can find out the issue. Any help on the first two questions would be great, looking forward to diving more into fscaptain. Thanks Mike

Hello Mike,
welcome to the FSCaptain forum. The offline mode is only there for testing purposes. If you login and want to test things, you have to start a flight. This flight would show up on your flight log unless you delete it. The offline mode lets you test systems without having to log a flight.
De-icing on the ground is a required procedure before departing during a flight. It is not related to aircraft systems, which is why you cannot test it in offline mode. If you want to test de-icing, I suggest to simply start a flight and delete it later. If you are using a weather engine, you could set your local weather to make it snow for the purpose of testing.
Another trick for testing things in FSCaptain is to start a second airline and switch to it whenever you want to do something out of the ordinary.
As for the PMDG 773, nobody on the team has that plane. We rely on user input to make it work. A few other users have already noticed that not everything works perfectly with this plane, but I believe we don'y have the data yet to support it. I can help you to set up a load map and a configuration file, but I would need the PMDG aicraft.cfg file for this. If you want to do this yourself, you can follow the guide in "FSCaptain Airplane Configuration How-To.pdf".
Best, Peter

Thank you peter for the info in offline mode. I'll post my next question in the support section.

Hello Mike,
I haven't used Offline mode in years, so I'm going to base my answers on what I think the code is telling me.
No. Ground Deicing is tied to a set of "Flight Stages" which aren't used in Offline mode.
Could that change one day? Perhaps, but it's not on our To Do lists now.
I believe (see my earlier disclaimer) that Skidding, Chilled Precipitation Intake, and Takeoff/Landing Flameout (for turbo-props & -jets) are possible in Offline mode.
I doubt if Blown Tires and Bird Strikes are available Offline. Cabin Emergencies aren't! They're tied to "Stages" as well.
If this is still vexing you, send us an ADMIN log or two for when you are looking for a flight with the aircraft and I'll tell you what I see.
It's likely tied to a 'bad' aircraft configuration or load map.
Best,
