Hi guys. Bought FSCaptain a while ago but didn't use it. Im using the 64bit version and i have a question
Do i HAVE to use FSCaptain fight dispatch in order to do my flights? Or can i just use the in game FCDU to do my flight to and from? I did one last night using just the FCDU and it was completed and logged. The only reason i didn't use the Flight dispatch tab is because i could not use my plane the new Airbus and it was starting to get frustrating. Also i noticed in the above that you can ONLY select you're departure and not a destination, as i only wish to fly to airports that i have scenery for.
RegardsMike

Hello Mike,
you can ignore the flight dispatch tap if you don't want to use it. Just start the simulator, hop in your plane, start the FCDU and pick one of the flights that it offers to you.
The new Airbuses (both Aerosoft and FSL) should be recognized by FSCaptain. It may be that you first have to start the simulator and the FSCaptain FCDU before the Administrator recognizes the planes, but it does. I logged already several flights with the Aerosoft A319.
The advantage of the flight dispatcher is that you get a more accurate estimate for fuel and flight time, since you can import weather and flight plan. You also can specify the destination and other things by clicking on "Specify flight details".
If you only want to fly to specific destinations, you can set up a list of nodes for your airline. This is described in the User Guide - Appendix 12: Your Airline’s Nodes file.
Cheers, Peter

Hi Mike,
As per Peter, both the Administrator and the FCDU look to find both an 'aircraft configuration' and a 'load map' file for aircraft. The FCDU is only concerned with the aircraft you are running, while the Administrator tries to find all of your flyable aircraft.
If you email us some of your ADMIN logs, we can see what's being looked for. But since this is a new aircraft, you likely aren't matching much other than a "type configuration" file. In that case, your aircraft may not appear in the Administrator dropdown as a separate aircraft... but as a generic type.
While that's certainly flyable, it lacks any customization for your aircraft (maximum payloads, burn rates, PAX totals, etc...).
For a newly-published aircraft such as the new Aerosoft Airbuses, there would be no load map, nor a 'folder-specific Override' configuration file. If you read the FSCaptain document "Airplane Configuration How-To", we explain more about such items. (For now you can safely ignore any references to XML or LVARs or interfaces.)
The Systems Interface for this aircraft is quite similar to the one used in earlier Aerosoft Airbuses... with one or two differences.
Peter has related these differences and the Systems Interface for our next build will account for everything that's present. Peter even has some initial Override and Load Maps that we would include in our next build.
But for now, we would encourage you to set the Battery system as INOP on your Overrides configuration files.
Regards,

Thxs for the replies guys I fixed the plane not showing issue via installing the 1.8.1 Beta So i can use the flight dispatch now. Also i did find the Specify flight details as well But i have an issue with fuel and flight time option. It says press SHIFT. i tried pressing shift and entering 5600kg fuel but does not take. Hi Mike,
some advanced addon airplanes (like PMDG or FSL) require that refueling is done with their own system. This ma have been the case for you. To find our more, could you send us (click on the blue text below) a zip file containing your FSCaptain\Data\Logs directory, your FSCaptain\Aircraft directory and the aircraft.cfg file of your airplane model in FSX\Simobjects\Airplanes ? Please send it to everyone in the team and copy the html address of this thread in your message so that all of us can think about this.
Cheers, Peter

Hi Mike,
Entering fuel weights there in anything other than "Good Old American Pounds" is not working in 1.8.1 Beta 1. It's been fixed in Beta 2... which has been stalled of late by my lack of a 3D card.
In theory you should be able to enter 5600kg, hold down either Shift key, then click Recalculate.
So taking that theory one more step, right now if you entered 12346 (which is the amount of pounds that would be somewhat close to 5600kg) held down Shift and clicked Recalculate... it should be close??
Please let us know! Regards,
