Spare time peter what is that:-) I can't use a flight simulator without Fscaptain so i'll just carry on. with all the recent updates to fscaptain there is always something new to learn. really enjoying p3d V4 so with REX Skyforce looming and the Aerosoft Airbus coming soon, these are great days for flightsimmers like us. take care steve

I've been going at it for over six years myself and am stalled at Level 7. For your amusement, here's my pathetically petering-out career (for my leisure-time airline):

Travis that is not that bad. didn't any appeal points ,i'd used them up on crashes, landing alerts and oxygen starvation. just when you think you have everything under control...boom thinking of starting all over again with a new 1.80 version .with some extra difficulty settings
thanks for a great program travis steve

Thank you for your kind words Steve! I found - much after the fact of their first implementation - that you should focus your appeal points to get individual flights above 100 points. Because when you do that... you gain more appeal points (for having a flight above 100 points). 1.8.0 Beta 2 will launch to the public on Monday Oct 2nd. Keep it under your hat. Best,

Finally an Ace. Now it's time to hunt down some special awards.

Special Awards? Funny you should mention that....
The annual ACME Captains' Union negotiations this year haven't finished, but Captains have won a new concession from the dreaded Airline Consortium which will be present in 1.8.0 Beta 3....
If Captains elect to have their (Scheduled) Actual Arrival Times scored, they can now earn bonus points for 'on-time performance.'
Negotiators are still hammering out the details, but discussions are in the area of awarding 1 or 2 points for being within 6-10 minutes of the actual arrival time, 5 points for being within 3-5 minutes, and a whopping 10 points for being within 2 minutes! Early or late doesn't matter, but if you go IN nearly on time, you'll get benefits!
Ancillary to that, a new Special Award will be enabled to honor those Captains who manage such feats of timekeeping. Details of this award have not been finalized.
Rumors are that this may be the last year in which such bonuses and awards will be issued retroactively. So if you're the Captain who likes to fly with Scheduled Arrival Times (in addition to your Block Time) then sharpen up your skills and learn to arrive on-time.
Check pages 117-118 in the User's Guide for 1.8.0 Beta 2 (just posted) for a better description of how to check if your scheduled arrival time will be honored by your simulator.
Regards,

Hi Legendli,
Fly scheduled flights with scored actual arrival time. Fly cargo hauls with special cargo (fragile etc). With charter flights and no special features, 102 is pretty much the maximum you can get, except when there is an emergency.
Cheers, Peter

Hello Legendli, If you'd rather fly passengers, setting the secret option SPECIAL_PAX=100 will greatly increase the chance of having a VIP or GROUP on some of your flights. So if you arrive on-time, you'll get some bonus points for that! You can set SPECIAL_PAX to any value between 2 and 100 - that's the percentage chance (measured against other factors) of having 'priority passengers' on your flight. SPECIAL_PAX defaults to a value of "1" so that value will be ignored and not kept in options.cfg. Don't tell anyone that you read this... SPECIAL_PAX is one of my "secret options". Best,
