Yes, I guess that will not be for the foreseeable future, but it would be interesting to have all spoken text generated by a Text-to -Speech engine instead of using .wav files.
There're a few advantages to that I can think of but the one that makes me ask about this is the FO (and only him or her)
Imagine sitting in the cockpit, you have VOXATC going, you have Voice command going, you have FScaptain coming into the mix and a few others.
All different voices for, yes, the one and only FO sitting next to you. Not very realistic, right?
So far, all the Add-ons I use make use of Text-to-Speech, hence I can use the same voice for the FO.
But FScaptain is the exception, there I have another voice, a prerecorded one. So I have a second FO riding along on the jump seat
I came up with an intermediate solution to this problem, but there's one thing you could do to make live easier on me.
Could you release the written text of the FO' .wav files? Surely I could listen to all of them and just right them down, but if you have them lying around that could save me a lot of time.
So how would that help me? Quite simple actually.
On my sound card I connect my Line-out to my Line-in and use the Text-to-Speech engine using the voice of my choice to read the different texts and record them one by one in the corresponding .wav file.
I tested this and it works fine.
Again for now, if I just could get the written text for the FO that would be great. No need for the FA, I don't have any other FA running around, and even so, the more the merrier
Cheers,
Luc
