Hi, I'm new to FSCaptain. I'm the owner of ' Q2 Logistics'. A small company/division of the ' Q2 Global' -holding (va). My Q2 division is operational by the Q2-holding by VAFS5. But I will operate my company also on an independent, parallel way. I'm aware of AH2. But I don't like some specific details like some unrealistic high revenues ect. I'm searching for a system with a high level of detail & realism. Prior towards flight/pilot/company-rating. I develop my own websites like both aforementioned sites inclusive live integrated tables based on live spreadsheets. By this way I hope I can use FSCaptain, his txt-file to forward some data towards my online spreadsheet-system. On that way I could be project some data on my own site. Notice that my independent, parallel company & site is in development & trial. FSCaptain looks an awesome alternative to my thought, for what I need. I'm curious to discover the actual & futured va-options. If you want more info about me or my virtual pursuits & company's, do not hesitate to contact me. Kind Regards, TimoDD

Hi TimoDD, welcome to the forum. I must admit, Q2 logistics has a pretty cool web page. Congratulations FSCaptain can be used submit many flight data to a VA web page after a flight has been completed. The VA page should have a script to receive these data, and a database to store it. We have supported different VA systems in the past. To check out whether FSCaptain would work for you, you don't have to buy the program. Just use the demo version, which is fully functionable. It only restricts the airports from/to which you can fly. The details on how to export a flight to a VA are explained on page 46 of the user guide. Feel free to ask if you have any questions about it, or if you need assistance. Cheers, Peter

Hey, any airline that includes C208s and PC12s is something to grab my interest!
As far as VA interaction, we use the old FSPassengers method of sending data (via http or https). If you can accept their data, you can accept ours. Then again, if there's something that's missing just let us know and if we can add it to the outbound stream, we will.
Speaking for myself, I tend to think of FSCaptain as a "Virtual ATP VA" in that I can make flights as an ATP for my airline anytime I can without any pressure to "make nn hours per month" or any other requirement. We have certain rules that each Captain can choose to enforce (Position Reporting times, Landing Lights on/off, etc.) and even a basic Economic Mode that models a profit / loss situation.
We have dozens of planned features to be added, so if there's something that we're not doing which you would like to see... just let us know and if it tickles our fancy we will add it to our list!
Regards,

Hi, thanks for the kind words & welcome. For the moment I'm studying the UserGuide.pdf, the first of many pdf's included. I can only say, this is really an awesome job you did FSCaptain-team. A masterpiece of a tool. It looks a simple tool by design, but backstage it's bulge by all the details. Love it, like it!!! For the moment a long way to do, the setup, config of my company & fleet. But when this all is done, the fun will begin. Already thanks and a big congratulations towards the developers-team and the many customers with their great suggestions. In attachment, another masterpiece of a turboprop, operational by Q2 Logistics: The Carenado TBM850 Kind Regards, TimoDD

TimoDD,
Thank you for your kind words as well!
You're correct in one thing, once you've set up your airline and its aircraft you can forget that and just fly and have fun.
Please look at the FCOM Reference with a skeptical eye. (The FCOM is out of date and no longer supported - but the Reference Manual will give you a general idea of how things were meant to work.)
Focus on the User's Guide, the (old) Tutorial, the Guide to Dispatch Releases, and since you will be tinkering with your aircraft's configuration... the How To Configure document.
If you have aircraft which are not fully supported (in terms of systems, etc.) the Introduction to FSCaptain Interfaces (it's old as well) will guide you (using an LVAR aware program such as LINDA) to help us create an aircraft interface. (The Carenado Phenom 300, CLS BAe-146, and FSLabs A320 will have interfaces for version 1.7.3.)
If you've noticed a trend in this post it's that aside from the User's Guide and the Dispatch Release Guide, our documentation is "getting long in the tooth." I will work on them once 1.7.3 has been released and Dutch takes over for 1.8.0.
With regards,
If you know of someone who would like to volunteer to record FO or FA announcements, there are documents to cover that as well.
