Hi, I really love FSCaptain. But PLEASE...can you make some option to COMPLETELY disable checks like customs, runway lenght etc.? Runway to short for this aircraft, inappropriate surface, no customs service for cargo etc. I ´m really getting tired of these problems And I don´t need those features at all. Thank you:)

GFXLover,
Most things in FSCaptain are customizable & optional. Depending on the version that you're running, open your options.cfg file and set these options to see what's in your version, and what takes hold:
ENABLE_MSD=0; 1 = Enables MSD Violations. ENFORCE_DEST_RUNWAY_LENGTH=0; 1 = runway lengths at Destinations (including alternates) will be strictly considered in Dispatch guidance. RESPECT_CLOSED_AIRFIELDS=0 ; 1 = Airfields marked as closed can not be used. RESPECT_CUSTOMS=0; 1 = Airfields known not to have local Customs services cannot be the destination of an international flight. RESPECT_PRIVATE_AIRFIELDS=0; 1 = Airfields marked as 'private-use' may only be flown to from another private-use field.
This currently does not have a switch to turn it off, as it controls the ability to dispatch aircraft with wheels to water-only runways, and aircraft which can't handle soft surfaces (taxi on grass) to airports without hard surfaces. (Also, float-only aircraft shouldn't land at any airport without some water surface, etc.)
However I can add an option to RESPECT_AIRFIELD_SURFACES... which would default to "on" but would allow Captains to totally ignore surface conditions. Look for that in an upcoming build. (Maybe not the current one, as we've started internal testing, but soon enough.)

Hi Travis,
I have a question for you.
I was at FSDreamTeam Los Angeles International Airport. The aircraft that I chose is a British Airways 747-8. I have the FCDU installed. My only problem is when I enter the destination EGLL. It says on the FCDU, "NOT ALLOWED FOR THIS AIRCRAFT." Could you please explain what this means?
Thanks
Neel

Hello Neel,
that probably means that FSCaptain estimates insufficient fuel for this trip. It could also be something else (runway type is an issue with some 3rd party airports), but my first guess would be that the configuration file for you plane assumes a high fuel consumption. Some airplane models are actually grossly different from real values, and then KLAX to EGLL may be too long a trip. However, it could also be a misconfiguration. To find the cause, can you send us (click on the blue text below) a zip file containing your FSCaptain\Data\Logs directory, your FSCaptain\Aircraft directory and the aircraft.cfg file of your airplane model in FSX\Simobjects\Airplanes ? Please send it to everyone in the team and copy the html address of this thread in your message so that all of us can think about this.
Cheers, Peter

Neel, Without seeing any of your data, I would suspect that the FSDT KLAX has 'soft runways' and if I am correct then you could add this line to your 'airport_surface_override.txt' file and then run SceneryScanner. KLAX=H That line would instruct SceneryScanner to list all of your KLAX runways as "Hard Surface".
For more details, check your current User Guide, Page 157.
If you have other issues, please post / email your relevant log and data files.
Regards,
