How feasible is it to have assignments inside certain Regions.I'e Orbx NCA,CRM,NRM or PNW I only use Orbx Regions.when using the flight assignments i have to discard a lot of them because they go outside of my coverage area.so i thought i'd throw this in the pot.this would probably benefit quite a few users who like flying in certain areas.not just Orbx users.say for instance some one who loves mountain flying in Austria/switzerland
thanks steve

Have you tried to set up an <Airline>_nodes.cfg file for your areas? Or limit the duration of your flights in the dispatcher to, say 1.5 hours or so?
Cheers, Peter

Hi peter problem with the flight duration is that it can take you outside the region.so out of maybe 10 assignments, only 1 is inside the region(like to have more choice). have to read up on Nodes.cfg, never heard of that.

problem with the flight duration is that it can take you outside the region.so out of maybe 10 assignments, only 1 is inside the region(like to have more choice). That should depend on the settings that you choose. In the administrator, if you go to Flight Dispatch, there is a field for a time constraint. If you choose that number small enough you should have a pretty large chance to get a flight within a certain region assigned. Cheers, Peter

Hi peter Yes i tried that ,only problem is that it limits me to one region.i like to go across maybe 2 or 3.i only use large aircraft like aerosoft A318-21 or PMDG 737-777 (when they become P3D 2.4 ready) so you can see the problem.

Steve,
Peter's spot on target. What you need is a custom "your-airline-name"_nodes.txt file placed in your \FSCaptain\Airlines\ folder. It's merely a text file with "Node=" and the ICAO code of an airport you want to "favor."
I have a database of my sceneries, and so I pulled up one of 331 PNW scenery airports in my system. You can download this to your \FSCaptain\Airlines\ folder and replace "pnw" with the name of your airline:
pnw_nodes.txt (3.47 KB)
Then go to your options.cfg file and set PERCENTNODE to 100 - that is, "PERCENTNODE=100". (No spaces.)
Now in your Administrator, go to the Airline Definitions tab and load your airline. Then go to the "Charter Flights" section and set Percent of time Charters Offered to 100. Set Maximum Charters Offered to whatever you like. Also tick the other options to suit your fancy.
Now when you go to Flight Dispatch in the Admin, and ask to List Flights (or Get Assignment) you should get regularly scheduled flights as you have set already, plus charters to the airports in your nodes list.
Do know that it may not be 100% "your nodes" especially if you want a large list of Charters to pick from. Some airports have restrictions, some may be too close, some may have runways not of the correct length. Etc. However if you can find a repeatable situation ("I want to fly a Caravan from ZZZZ and it always gives me XXXX which isn't in my nodes list") we will look into it.
So if this list works well for you in that it would give you PNW-only Charters, let me know and I will try to spin out node_lists for all the other ORBX regions. You could then merge the ones you like together... change your airline's node list on the fly, etc.

That's great Steve! Please remember that ACME Airlines always needs new blood pilots for its ranks.

Hi Steve, good to know it is working for you. Just an idea: once you're done with your ORBX nodes list, why not share it with the community? You can send the file to Travis or Dutch and they could put it in the download section Cheers, Peter

Hi peter I'm adding Orbx airports to the Node as we speak.mainly larger ones that will take an Airbus. I will keep going with it and once i'm done will definitely upload it to the download section. I'm covering PNW,CRM,NRM and NCA OrbX regions for anyone interested in it.quite a few to go though. so this could take a while

I have PFJ and PNW, so if you do PNW I will probably do PFJ to have the area covered.

Gentlemen, I've taken my list of airports in each of the six Orbx NA areas (PNW, PFJ, NRM, CRM, SAK, NCA) and have uploaded them to the file sharing area as NA Orbx nodes.zip. Please note that some airports may be missing for the simple reason that I've installed other sceneries which may override these (I remembered to add CYVR, but I may have missed some others.). Any changes that you can draw to my attention will be gratefully appreciated, and I'll update the lists as needed.
