Trav / Dutch,
I cannot land my Maj Q400 into London city however hard i try, FSCaptain gives me a penalty every single time, this time it was rough flying? How is this penalty applied? Max G was 1.00 landing speed 356fpm
Just a quick thought, is this issue related to the steep approach? You descent at 1500 fpm+, I only ever get this at EGLC.

Cap Wotan,
That's caused by one of several things. Of late I was doing unpressurized approaches to LSZA (which has 4.0 glideslope to avoid such hard things as "hills") with complaints every time....
I have an urgent request in to Dutch to log when penalties occur as well as such things as "why??"
He's already enabled a "local PC time" to the log so we can capture such things as...
FCDU.GAU:: 16:41:46 HazardCB=1 FCDU.GAU:: 16:41:46 HazardDeIce=1 FCDU.GAU:: 16:41:46 Pilot: 455 Rufus T. Firefly
... but the more, the merrier as I say.

I'll wait for the next version to try EGLC again.
I notice that you have changed your FSC version to 1.5.1?

I'll wait for the next version to try EGLC again. I've a request in to Dutch to log certain things so we can learn from our mistakes later on. This should help us track down these odd little what happened's.... I notice that you have changed your FSC version to 1.5.1? Well spotted.
Currently there are just 3 minor changes along with a hopeful fix of the "negative payload" bug.
One of the minor changes is a timestamp for each line in the log files (using the computer's system time), so for instance I just wrote this out about 30 minutes ago...
FCDU.GAU:: 12:27:32 External Interface Detected (Cabin_Init > 0) FCDU.GAU:: 12:27:33 Loaded Aircraft: ./FSCaptain/Aircraft/Metroliner_III.cfg FCDU.GAU:: 12:27:33 Open Flight Assigned to Metroliner_III A/C HB-IUA FCDU.GAU:: 12:27:33 Preflight Read with ETE=67 Fuel=1700 FCDU.GAU:: 12:27:33 FlightPlan Loaded: C:\Users\Travis\Documents\Flight Simulator X Files\EFB Aix-les-Bains (LFLB) to Lugano (LSZA) IFR.pln FCDU.GAU:: 12:27:33 Flight 9423-0 being started/resumed FCDU.GAU:: 12:27:33 WritePreflight deleted FSCaptain\Data\Manifests\CastleAir_preflight_9423_LSZA.txt FCDU.GAU:: 12:27:34 Loaded Aircraft: ./FSCaptain/Aircraft/Metroliner_III.cfg FCDU.GAU:: 12:27:34 Aircraft Loaded (Metroliner_III HB-IUA) = 1 FCDU.GAU:: 12:27:34 Loaded Map: ./FSCaptain/Aircraft/Maps/Cargo/RAZBAM_MetrolinerIII.cfg FCDU.GAU:: 12:27:34 LoadMapping (RAZBAM_MetrolinerIII) = 1
And another minor change is that ATC_MODEL values with spaces are supported, so METROLINER III Captains will be fully supported! (Even with an interface, thanks to Peter!)
Once we've made certain that no new bugs have been introduced, you can look forward to a beta build being released.
I've found a quirk, which I'll report to Dutch after lunch.
(Hey, I'm a poet, and didn't know it....)

Travis, Is it possible to remove the rough flying penalty? It makes the Q400 unflyable, i just attempted a flight into EGPH, landing speed was 61FPM!!!!! Max G was 1G, i got a penalty for rough flying and damage? After a 2hr flight, getting an unfair penalty is most irritating. I must have done around 20 flights i have had to erase due to unfair penalties.

The penalty can't be removed.
Are you using the EXE version of the ACARS? The EXE can't take advantage of the xml interface and currently only the xml interface works with the current Q400s.
I'm hopeful to test an internal interface this weekend, and if it works we hope to have an initial 1.5.1 build out sometime next week.
I did pick up a bug over the past day or so and it's sapped my strength big-time, so testing might be slowed down... we'll see.

Yes, using the external FCDU.
That's a shame, it's my favourite aircraft. Oddly i have done at least 15 flights in the Q400 only every now and again do i get issues, perhaps 25% of flights.
It's really annoying, when you have factored in the prep time i would say that each flight is around 3 hours, if i get a unfair penalty at the end of that, well, my blood pressure goes a little higher.

Cap, We're close to getting the internal interface working well with the latest Q400. If I'm correct, I hope to make a short ferry flight from EGKK to EGLC in my Sunday with no bogies. Until then, the interface in this thread is the best offer - it seems to call phantom flameouts with 1.5.0, but I think that I see the issue at the heart of that as well. (Yes, if I'm working in C++ you know we're desperate. )
