FSCaptain is a great program, but one thing that I still would like to see is some sort of interface to other programs. For instance, a VA or a program like FSEconomy may dictate the payload, fuel, or route that one has to fly. It would be great if one could pass this information on to FSCaptain via a text file. The schedule file for airlines would be an option. If you would add fields for fuel, payload, and the name of a flight plan file then FSCaptain could work very well together with such external programs.

This is in the planning stages for a future version.

Hi Travis,
this is great news. What would also be useful if on the Administrator's flight dispatch page one could change the payload after one has selected a flight. Currently it seems you only can do that before selecting a flight in the "Optional" field, which requires you to select the destination as well.
Cheers, Peter

I would love this. We and many other developers have been gently urging FSDT for a long time to come though with the "GSX interface" that was promised to the community. So far nothing has happened although there's no official word one way or the other. One can continue to hope.

Yep - I PM'ed Umberto within hours of the pre-announcement of GSX. Nothing come of that, and it was only when Pete Dowson raised the question of a GSX API over a year later that there was any positive response. Since then I assume they've been busy on other aspects (and airports) and will return to this in their own time.
