Captains,
As of the release of Beta 2, FSCaptain 1.5.0 should be fully compatible with Prepar3d version 2. All you have to do is install the full version into the root folder of your Prepar3d installation. Everything should be automatic from that point.
If you, like me, want to have a single career in both FSX and Prepar3d, FSCaptain will allow this. It will take a little tweaking.
1. After install you will have multiple copies of FSCaptain. It might be a good idea before installing into P3D to rename the start menu folder and desktop icons you may be using to say "FSX" in them, so as to be able to tell them from the P3D versions which will appear after the install.
2. Install FSCaptain 1.5.0 Beta 2 or a later release into Prepar3d V2. Select whatever options you want. The initial airline and pilot doesn't matter that much -- we will be replacing them.
3. You may want to change the just installed start menu and desktop icons to say "P3D" in their titles to distinguish them from the FSX versions you already have. From here on out we will refer to the two separate installs as the P3D (new) and the "FSX" (existing) versions.
4. If you aren't using a pre-installed airline definition you will want to copy your airline cfg file and any schedule or node files attached to it from the FSX FSCaptain\Airlines folder to the P3D FSCaptain\Airlines folder.
5. We will make some changes to the FSCaptain\Config\profile.cfg file in the P3D install:
6. Save your profile.cfg with these changes.
When you run the P3D Administrator, change to your preferred airline using the "Change Airline and/or pilot" button. You should now see your FSX career pop up in the P3D Administrator. Now, any flights you book and fly in P3D V2 will be recorded in the master FSX records, and any FSX flights will count in there also.
Happy Flying!

5. We will make some changes to the FSCaptain\Config\profile.cfg file in the P3D install:
- Look at the profile.cfg in the FSX install and find the pilot employee number you are using. The line will read something like: "PILOT=123,Charles Owen,1,0,19530418,15,1,116" but with your name. Copy this line.
- Now edit the profile.cfg file in the P3d installation and replace the PILOT= line in there with one you copied. This is so that the employee numbers match up in the records of both versions.
- Now replace the LOGROOT= and BACKUP= entries in the P3D profile.cfg with the full path to the FSX folders that contain your data and backups. For example I changed LOGROOT=FSCaptain\Data to LOGROOT=F:\FSX\FSCaptain\Data.
6. Save your profile.cfg with these changes.
