Captains,
FSCaptain 1.5 is under development now, with two "cool" new major features that will enhance realism and your fun factor too.
Because of the difficulty of dual development, we've decided to deprecate the older FCOM gauge. The gauge will still work and be distributed with the product for the foreseeable future, but support for new features will likely not be added to it if the new features require significant changes to the user interface.
All new features will be a part of the FCDU gauge which already has much more capability than the older FCOM. We encourage all airlines using the ACME ACARS Dispatch System [i.e. FSCaptain] to upgrade to the FCDU in their aircraft, if they have not already done so.
To convert a panel.cfg to the FCDU in FSX, simply do a text replacement of "FCDU!" for "FCOM!" in the panel.cfg. If you are using FS9, that would be "FCDU9!" and "FCOM9!". You will likely need to adjust the dimensions of the window, as the FCDU is vertically oriented and the FCOM was horizontal. Simply reversing the numbers is a good start. So this is a sample FCOM window (from the default Caravan):
To upgrade this to the FCDU:
Those numbers are the width and height of the window and gauge (they must be the same). You can change these to your taste if you want.
