I am having the same issue with sound no playing, looking at the log I found: Admin.EXE:: SoundOpen: 'open C:\PROGRAM FILES (X86)\MICROSOFT GAMES\MICROSOFT FLIGHT SIMULATOR X\FSCaptain\Sound\FO_Trav\ANNO1A1.wav alias voice type MPSoundOpen: 'open C:' - The driver cannot recognize the specified command parameter. Admin.EXE:: SoundOpen: 'open C:\PROGRAM FILES (X86)\MICROSOFT GAMES\MICROSOFT FLIGHT SIMULATOR X\FSCaptain\Sound\Music\Sunshine.MP3 alias music type MPESoundOpen: 'open C:' - The driver cannot recognize the specified command parameter. Mike, I will not be back at my development machine until tomorrow but here's something that will help diagnose the problem. Using the playlist section of the sound control window, use the Browse button to locate one of the music files, and then tell me what the full pathname to the music file is, starting with the drive. Example: C:\FSX\FSCaptain\sound\Music\Somewhere_Sunny.MP3 Dutch same problem with me too. no sounds or announcements playing inflight. path is same as it should be (it even showing the C drive (X86), etc till mp3. what to do? awesome product. if anyone could exactly configure pmdg 777 and majestic dash8 files (I mean aircraft characteristics) it will be superb. thankyou.

3davrid,
Are there not any Majestic Dash8 Q400 files that accompany your installation?
If not, then please check the File Sharing area.

It appears that a buffer isn't long enough to hold long file names and that's the cause of the problem, we'll have a new correct4ed beta up soon.

Great news glad it worked "in the field". Hope this clears up audio problems for anyone who's had them.

Hi,
You make a very great work I wonder, if it's possible to implement in the FMC an option to increase or decrease the sound of the FO or FA ?
regards

Thank you Ten!
I assume that's possible, but I'll leave it for Dutch to answer.
(Personally I just set my FSCaptain volume levels to max and use my PC's volume control for fine tuning. But that's me....)

Your welcome
Yes, me too, I set the sound to max but with the engine and the fact that the english is not my mother tongue, I have some difficulties to hear or understand completly what the FO says. So it's problematics when the FO report a fault in the system or a failure and I dont heard what he says.
Maybe also implement a failure message in the FMC to help the pilot to find what is the failure ?

Sorry for the double post
I wonder also if it is possible to improve the FO anounce during the flight. For example, when we down the gear, it will be great to hear the FO says : "Gear down, three green" or "Gear up"
I saw also that in the Aircraft CFG creat for FScaptain, we can implement text line for V1, VR and V2 according to the weight of the plane, maybe it will be more simple to enter this speed directly in the FMC before the flight, when it is selected, it will be more simple and accurate.
It's just suppositions

Ten,
The ACARS will note any failures - as a three digit number on one of the screens. Maybe that could be brought out to be more noticeable.
That's a great suggestion for the V-Speeds! 1.4.5 introduced the ability to set them via LVars from certain aircraft (the Aerosoft Airbus Extended should automatically set the takeoff V-Speeds for example) but maybe this could be something that Dutch could include in a new build.

Hi,
Great work on the stand alone ACARS unit, so much better for me than a gauge. I've used to for 3 flights now and my only small problem is that the voices of the first officer, flight attendant, and the taxi music are really quiet. So quiet that I can hardly hear it with all other sound off. The push buttons on the device are nice and loud just the voices and music. My volume slider in windows is all the way up for the ACARS display. Is this a known bug or am I setting something up wrong?
Thanks.

When you have the sliders all the way up then that's the max volume the sound driver can output. But this sound level is also controlled by a bevy of other volume controls in Windows. Have a look at your sound mixer - when FSX is running you should see a slider that's devoted to FCDU in your sound mixer. That may be set too low. There are other volume controls too, but that's the most common that applies to the Windows MCI sounds only.
