now this will maybe sound stupid .. but well .. i'm courageous
i'm one of those who just can't fly without fscaptain, as it logs your flight, force you to do stuff correctly and brings some very much well needed random stuff in the simulator like failures and other sorts of emergencies. (oops this is the advertisement part of the message )
the thing i would have loved to have is an option that let you disable everything related to 'aircraft physics and commands' in the aircraft configuration file, that would just allow everyone to fly any plane even if it has it's own made FDE that FScaptain can't understand out of the box.
so for example the majestic q400 (and b777) people would have been able to use FSCaptain with it since day 1, same with other complex aircrafts, with that option we wouldn't have to worry about problems relating to speed / lights / flaps / and other stuff that would need an interface .. but we would still be able to log our flights with FSC, we would still have to respect timing, we would still be able to check weather, and we would still have some random stuff happening (emergencies can probably be triggered on any planes even if they have no real effect ? and the other emergency that are FSC only like birds and cabin emergencies would still happen). Well in 1 word we would still be able to enjoy a good part of features FSC offers even if the plane is not 100% supported yet.
some recently released airplane are more and more complex and this trend will probably continue and we all want to fly them with FSC, but it takes time to do custom interfaces (and what if Travis gets lazy ) and other change to the program. That option would be a nice workaround without much effort until the complete interface is done. Right now it's already possible to disable some options, but not everything related to the plane and that's why people with the Q400 could not use it with FSC until very recently.
i'm actually not sure i explained it very well hehe , and even less sure if others would find this to be a good idea .
thank you for reading and for the great program
