It would be a great feature, if FSCaptain would automatically analyse the used fuel and improve itself and its calculation. This should be fairly easy to implement by using a simple linear regression for starters. The more one flies, the better the prediction will be of how much fuel is needed. Wind and other data could also be included via multiple regression or several regressions and then using the average. The files on fuel consumption could then also be shared with others.

This feature is exists but is pretty well hidden. Even I can't remember how to use it off the top of my head. WE need to make this more obvious.
Thanks for your suggestions Andy!

Once I can get Dutch down out of his "I'm busy coding" treehouse, I will present an idea or two to him which should fold nicely into this area... and it's something we have discussed before.... But first things first; he's been busy with some really cool breakthroughs ever since 1.4.5....

How would this tie-in thou? As a new user I am trying to tweak the fuel-usage figures for the PMDG 737NGX 800WL. The fuel flow figures I see in flight (like 6,000lb/hr at the MOST during cruise) are well below what is set on the aircraft tab in teh admin program, yet the dispatcher is still underestimating how much fuel will be used? So far I am looking at an avg of about 6,900 lb/hr in cruise which is well above what would ever be used even during high speed cruise. (have used the std figures of 8100 for CLB etc) It seems you have to enter completely unrealistically high fuel flow figures into the aircraft tab to get the dispatcher to calculate adequate fuel. Was wondering if I am missing something - I am a noob in FSCaptain after all. Have set the cruise speed to 450knots which seems mostly ok - but still too fast(did a trial flight from KSEA to KSFO yesterday with real weather so about 64kt H/W with a GS of 350ish knots...had to push out my ETE by 10 mins so not too bad. Does anyone have some tried-and-tested fuel consumption figures for the 737NGX-800WL? I just use standard ECON cruise, descent profiles etc..will push the descent speed up a bit to 270/280KIAS if it looks like I am a little behind. But I have to say I am warming to FS Captain quite a lot. Have only done two actual flights with it so far, but liking the requirement to juggle ACARS reports/cabin service/turb/time estimates and subsequent speed changes. However I did feel a little guilty after greasing it on for my first landing and hearing the claps from the back....but hey I am sure I could have landed that well if I hadn't done an autoland Once my funds for FSX mods replenishes will be adding full version for sure! Have already setup Air New Zealand with A.I. Schedule imported!

I'll check the NGX over the weekend. If I recall my last flight with it, the numbers looked OK to me.
Cheers, Peter
