Hi Dutch, In addition to the mechanical emergencies already present in FSC I was wondering if random medical emergencies or the occasional unruly passenger (like the duct tape guy) could occur requiring a diversion. These are things airline captains must also face. Thanks... Great product!

Already in. It's referred to in the manual and administrator as Cabin Emergencies.

yep dlarock is right but since i'm a professional thread hijacker , maybe what could be added is 'airport hazards' ... like ... 'ils not working today' .. huh ... the poor mak would have sudden hearbeat finding out 30 miiles from the airport that he's not gonna be able to use ils and autoland ;D or usual runway closed, you have to use a shorter one but i guess theses things are made by the scenery, so probably not something fscaptain could interfere with .. but well ideas are ideas take care fscaptain'ers

I've thought about things like that in connection with the possibility of adding reasonable, useful NOTAMS.
However I don't think there's a way for us to disable an ILS on the fly.
There are however "real" airport hazards in the form of misaligned ILS glideslopes or localizers, taxiways that are not the surface that is depicted, and buildings that are placed too close to taxiways so that wings clip them causing a crash. I've personally seen some of each of these and there are probably more.
These are all errors in airports design but they deserve NOTAMS to sim pilots and maybe there's a way to run through the scenery database and detect them.
If so there'd be our NOTAM database and not faked one bit but very useful.

Oh cool! Now that I've mentioned it maybe I'll get one on my next flight!! I like the NOTAMS idea, if nothing else it adds to the realism of flight preparation.

Oh. embarrassing! We'd just get a big XX log entry and a score of zero. I'd bet the captain of this flight would have been happy to get off that lightly...

Oh my those would be good things to spring upon Captains. Nope - I've ran tests and it's a lot of work that needs to run outside of an MSFS session. Then there's cleanup and resetting, etc. Now as for closing a runway or an airport... well we'd need a dedicated ATC / AI engine to manage that. ( ahem again) ;D

The primary cooking would be elsewhere... I'm just the garçon chien running around trying to coordinate things. ;D I like it when Travis says ahem Ehhh, that's likely just my sinuses acting up again....

As FSC already uses makerunways, it should know the frequencies of the ILS. Can't you prevent the frequency from being inserted in both NAV's? Oh, but I want a NOTAM for it!! Cheers
