I doubt this is a bug at your end, but just simply one of those one in (insert really high number here) type of things but I’ve just falsely had a “Captain we’ve got a flameout.” happen to me. I was on autopilot in the cruise with the QW146 in windowed mode and I was doing other stuff on my computer which isn’t anything out of the ordinary for me when I heard Trav make the call. A quick switch back to the flight sim saw the engine dials bouncing up and down and then finally they settled down and all was well which isn’t too far off what I’ve seen when the flight sim suddenly throws a complete change of wind speed and direction at you. I’m guessing that’s what may have happened here and the autothrottle possibly overcompensated excessively in the first split second where it may have triggered the flameout call. I don’t know the working of the software and if that could be a possible explanation? But anyway, I’m now left with all four engines working normally yet I’ve still got a fault code 704 showing and there’s no way to cancel that is there?
Whilst this is the first time I’ve ever experienced something like this so it obviously isn’t a common problem it would be nice if I could return the flight to a normal one and have an in flight “undo” option, for want of a better explanation, which could cover all eventualities. It would allow me to cancel the emergency in this case or one I have done in the past which was to click the wrong button by accident and ready the crew for landing about half an hour too early.
Probably not worth putting too high on the list of things to look at but just thought I’d throw the idea out there and you can do with it as you wish.
PS, As per a previous post of mine, I think the above stated occurrence also adds a lot of weight to the inclusion within FSCaptain of the “Punch Travis” option which I feel should now definitely become a priority for the next update release.
