Hello, FSCaptain Team!
Here's an enhancement suggestion:
I do appreciate the advanced handling you have included for transition altitudes worldwide, and the included TA database. However, at least in Europe (unlike the US/Canada) transition altitude and transition level do not match. Transition altitude is known in advance, published and predictable. Transition level however, i.e. the point when local barometric pressure is set during descent is determined and given by ATC (depending on the current QNH) and it is generally 1000 to 1500 ft above the published TA. Common examples from the countries I've flown in RL: Croatia/Bosnia/Serbia: TA 9500 (as correctly indicated in FSCaptain database); transition level: usually FL110. In Bulgaria: TA 12000ft, TL commonly FL130. Currently when flying with FSCaptain and realistic ATC service for example on Vatsim/IVAO and following the realistic procedure for setting the altimeter during descent at the the TL given by ATC we get FSCaptain penalties for not using standard altimeter above TA.
My suggestion for some future version would be:
1. Either implement TL call during descent, hardcoded at TA + 1000ft for all countries outside of US/Canada (a bit generic, but will work 90% of the time). A even more accurate algorithm would be: get the TA, round it up to the next higher thousand (for example if it's 9500 round it up to 10000) and then add +1000ft on top of it to get the TL.
or alternatively
2. Allow extra flexibility by not issuing any penalties if the altimeter is reset during descent at TA + 1000-1500 ft (larger buffer)
Thanks a lot for a great addon!

Thank you for your kind words! I like your #1 idea - for non TAs of 18000, to round up the TA value to the next 1000ft level and adding 1000 for a "TL Buffer" that would be used during descent. Being solo flyers, neither Dutch nor I have felt any external pressure to set our altimeters to local at any other point. ( Bad pressure pun!) Now I like it... but whether or not it's easily doable is up to Dutch.

Those are not hard changes to make, and I will trust Travis to keep reminding me so that they get into the next release, as among many other duties he's our TA man.
