Could it be possible on the next release to have the ability to change the flight number when we need to make a change to flight. I had an instance where I had a duplicate flight number and I wasn't able to change it due to it being grayed out. I had to delete and re add the flight. Being able to change flight number will also help when flight numbers change for same flight as in the real world. Just a thought.
Thanks, Gabe

This is a good idea, this is similar to the gate assignment, it doesn't always match the FSX one so I have to press F2 to clear the assignment in order to follow the fsx one. If the gate and callsign could somehow ALWAYS be made to match then I would not need this, but it would be good to have the option.
(I would rather NOT do this as I like the realism of being allocated these, but there is often a mismatch between the gates and callsigns which could do with a way of resolving)

This sounds like an area where some discussion might generate some action. Gabe, where in the program are you seeing that you might need to change the flight number? In the Admin? In the schedule editor or at Dispatch?? As for gates... If ATC tells me to go somewhere else than the FCOM I just say "ok" and go where my boss (dispatch) tells me.

Hi Travis, In the admin. where we create schedules. I like using real time schedules and from time to time a flight no. may change. For instance, I created a flight from KALT to KJFK say Departs at 9am and I have a flight number say 1596 and after sometime I notice that on flight tracker (this is where I get me flight info for creating sch.) that the flight number changed for the same flight and time. It would be nice if I could go into the schedule in admin. and be able to change the flight number, but the flight number is grayed out so I have to delete the flight sch. and create a new one. It's really no be deal to recreate the flight sch., doesn't take but a couple of minutes. Just figure it would be nice to change the flight number in the admin.
Oh, Travis can you please take a look at my post enhancement Idea a couple of posts down and let me me know what uou think.
Thanks Gabe

Gabe, I'm 99% certain that the flight numbers serve as an index (or primary key) for the data table that is the airline schedule. So changing the flight number may need to be approved by the application. That said, I do see your point in changing individual flights now and again. If Dutch can't see a showstopper present, I'm sure he'll queue this up for a future version. It seems that your other post missed my "cut-off point" for recapping. I'll make it back by the forum later this evening for a read-through and possibly longish answer.

Travis, if Dutch doesn't do anything, that's ok. It only takes a couple of minutes to delete and recreate the schedule. I'm sure their's much more important things that are need in the program. Not a problem.

Another idea about schedules: guys like me who only can fly in the evenings and on weekends will never be able to fly routes that are scheduled during working hours. It would be nice if one could create a schedule that automatically offers a flight every x hours instead of (or in addition to) every day or every week.
