Hello, I encounter problems during Scenery Scan. I upgrade from FS Captain old version to the latest one.
The SceneryScanner Log says that it can not find some files.

I think the Navdata\airports.dat should be moved from my documents to somewhere else - I have a special letter in my name - probably the engine can not read my path properly.
And I seem to be missing the iata.cfg data.
I did download the latest makerunway.exe - this one seems to be running fine without errors.
Please help, Thank you OE-PKR - PetziK over

Hi PetziK,
welcome to the FSCaptain forum. I see two things that could go wrong on your system.
1) "C:\Program Files (x86)\.." can be a problem. Windows considers this directory as special, with restricted access rights for 3rd party programs. Consequently, many FSX addon programs may not be able to create or modify files in this directory. The best solution would be to reinstall FSX in another directory, say, C:\FSX\, but I am not sure you want to do that. You should at the very least make sure that FSX and any FSCaptain program runs in administrator mode, so that they can create all necessary files.
2) "C:\Users\Peter Kreil\..". Since P3D v4 has been introduced, FSCaptain uses advanced character encoding to remain compatible with the new program. It may be that the special character in your home directory's name creates issues. I suggest to install the Navdata in a different directory.
Cheers, Peter

Hello - Thank you for the fast answer. Well the previous version of FS-Captain ran without problems - So I will NOT consider reinstalling FSX - It took me 2 years something to have everything and every addon in place. No way! ;-)
1.) I will check the administrator rights - I haven't thought of that - Thank you
2.) Yes, that is my suggestion - but how can I move it? I would like to move it to where FS-Capt. is installed - no necessity to have it in a different place on my side - unless the system needs a separate file-path. How can I move it? What cfg / dll file must be reset in order to point to the new destination folder?
3.) where can I get the missing JATA.cfg file? It seems it was not content of the update package and lacked from my very old previous version.
Thanks, OE-PKR, over

I found the path setting in the options.cfg - and successfully ran the scenery-scanner.

Excellent. I would assume that after that everything works as it should. Let us know if there are still issues.

Hello Petzik, We normally don't include the base configuration files in Fixpacks... only ones that have changed since the latest Full Install. But you can download all of the base configuration files (including the IATA.CFG file) here: www.fscaptain.net/downloads/Config.zipBest,
