Just my thoughts -
Can we add a landing profile? FSCaptain already knows what the weight of the aircraft is, with that it can calculate the target landing speed. It would be nice if FSCaptain graded on how close to the landing profile you were and maybe offered some bunny points.
It can also deduct points for excess fuel, over a certain limit of course.

Hi Charlie, good ideas. The excess fuel penalty is already implemented. If you feel like testing it, just add 30% more fuel or so The landing profile would be very difficult to implement, I believe. It depends on the flap settings and engines, I would expect that it would require a lot of custom code for each aircraft. I also would expect that Dutch would not be too enthusiastic about developing this. FSCaptain is supposed to simulate the interaction with your airline dispatchers. For airlines, the fact just how smooth you land is not so important as long as it is within reasonable limits. It is more important to get the plane to the ground as quickly as possible so that the pilot has more runway available in case of an emergency. Cheers, Peter

Things like what you ask about are fine, but as with previous changes we need to roll out such changes incrementally. And we've already made baby steps in this area. Starting with Beta 3, you will lose any 'nice landing points' if you land overweight. We also offer optional maximum pitch and bank levels (set at a generous 15 degrees) that would also come into play. If I were a passenger on an aircraft, no matter how softly it touched down, if I knew we were literally 'tilted' on landing I wouldn't feel it was a 'good landing.' Once all Captains become accustomed to working with this, we can then think about other things, such as applying damage if an aggressive landing occurred with a non-negligible bank angle. Eventually we'd like to have this customized per-aircraft so you can define the maximum pitch for an aircraft before we can declare a tailstrike. (Which could occur on takeoff or landing.) Tailstrikes are very very bad things for the health of an aircraft.... Regards,
