Captains,
For those of you who have started the migration to Prepar3D Version 3, you may have noticed that FSCaptain 1.7.1 is persistently trying to access the dll.xml file for P3D Version 2. Mea culpa, I flubbed up on reading the registry keys.
We've corrected that, and we've been able to produce a build of the Admin.exe program that works for those Captains using Windows XP. Combined with a few minor bug fixes - the most important of which is better fuel calculations (as well as more leeway in assigning fuel loads), and we're nearly ready to launch this in a Public Beta of FSCaptain 1.7.2.
This is primarily a bug-fix release, so we didn't focus on adding more features to this version. But we did manage to make a change so that Captains who find VIPs on their PAX flights will notice that these flights are now flagged as Priority flights. This means that automatic clearance is granted for early arrival, but if you arrive late you will suffer the bad publicity and extra Demerit points will accrue to your career.
Expect links to the new installers to be posted here in the forum within 24 hours.
Regards,

Captains,
I apologize for the delay, but a new family issue requires my attention for several days.

Captains,
Just time for a quick update - test builds have gone out and feedback is being accumulated. I hope to have a new test out tomorrow and hopefully all will be clear for a public release soon afterwards.

A new test build went out again today and the initial response has been positive.
If nothing ill shows itself, I would like to make a public release for my Monday morning....

Captains,
The current test results (of the 12am Monday build) are very good, but I've just been informed that I am to be placed at the disposition of the Great State of California for an indeterminate period of time, performing juror duties.
If no showstopper bugs arise before next Friday, I'll plan to release a Fixpack then as I'd be available for support over the weekend. (I assume... I could learn differently over the next few days.)
Regards,

Captains, After some new bug fixes (the Hub Generator's broken, didn't anyone notice? ) I was prepared to push a new build out for the test group. Until I did something really awkward. Today I dropped a large (warehouse club sized) bottle of shampoo on my unprotected foot. Ow! X-Rays show I was >< this close to a fracture, but needless to say it's bruised and swollen and in need of elevation & rest. My computers are tied to my home office / flight station, where an ottoman or similar is not practical (I'm typing with my feet on my CH rudders if that visual helps) so I'm limiting my "computer time" to two 60 minute periods per day for the next few days until the swelling goes down. Hoping for an extended period of "no drama" really soon.
