Greetings and salutations fellow virtual pilots!
I seek information on whether it might be possible to get more support for seaplanes. For example, I do not think I can fly principly with the deHavilland Beaver or similar aircraft with fscaptain as is since it is liable to try to send the Beaver off to a land based airport.
Is there a way I can rig the program to allow for only water airports when I use this aircraft? Or is that something that you might consider in a future version? (Perhaps as simple as rebuilding the airport database with seaplane ports only?)
I know it's not something most people are into, but I rather like bush flying and the water-landers myself.

Hi Chris,
I think that I have positive news for you....
Currently, development on version 1.6.3 has revised the airport database to better allow for airports to designate those with only land-runways, airports with a mixture of land- and water-runways, and airports with only water-runways. I'm hopeful to have this in pubic beta within a few weeks.
I have scheduled for the next version to support floatplanes in that they can only take off or land from water runways.
If work on version 1.6.3 is extended (due to bugs & somesuch) I may try to work in the aircraft configuration change that would designate an aircraft as "water only". I would rather take some more time to designate aircraft as "land only" or "land or water" or "water only" (for aircraft with only float/pontoons) or "soft land only" (for tundra wheels) or "ice or snow" (for skis) or "land or ice or snow" (for helicopters with sleds).
If you have any other items that you'd like to have addressed, please feel free to let us know.
