It would be nice if one could tell FSCaptain to pick specific gates for selected airports. Especially on larger airports (like FSDreamteam's CYVR, FSCaptain tends to assign rather weird gates to my flights.
I imagine one could add this information to the nodes.cfg file for a given airport. Something like node=CYVR gates=A1,B10,C12,D1,A5
where the five gates stand for the different plane sizes (tiny, small, ...)
Cheers, Peter

Done Another suggestion, which I made a long time ago: under "Airline Definitions", could FSCaptain pre-select the currently active airline? Thanks, Peter

"Could?" Yes. "Will?" When we get around to it. It actually sounds like something fairly simple, so right up my street.

Back to the issue of the gates, I know that FSCaptain will choose a parking spot that's suited to your flight type, your aircraft's size - but it will also take into consideration your airline's code. So if your airports have accurate airline codes, you should get reasonable parking selections.
Now the catch to that is - are you flying an airline with a real-world airline code? I don't. I fly Castle Air and Cargo, a small organization with a world-wide reach that "damp leases" its aircraft from other airlines and private lessors. Castle Air might at any time have a Delta 737, an TNT Metroliner 3, and a private Cessna Caravan in the skies somewhere. So I often get "out of the way" parking assignments.
In the short term what I could do is to take not just my Airline's Code, but the ATC_Code of the aircraft I'm flying and try to match that code. But if you're flying ZZZ Airline and your aircraft livery has an ATC_Code of ZZZ that won't help.
Down the road, we could add a new file [airline_name]_parking.cfg which would allow anyone to specify certain spots at any airport similar to what you suggested:
ZZZ_Parking.cfg --------------- CYVR=A1,B10,C12,D1,A5,Park101
Etc.
The current methods would then use those parking spots to find the best flight-type & size match.
