Hi, First let me say FSCaptain has tripled the enjoyment of FSX!!
I am experimenting with the Manifest Generator. I like to do "off airport" landings at campsites in Alaska so am adding some "specific" items for such adventures. I pretty much have it figured out except for "Airport" specific items. Here is a line from the "items.cfg"........I enlarged the number that I am confused about......
500-1000,10,2-4,1,Crate,s,California Wine,4000,0,0,0,KSFO,300
the "0" that I made larger before KSFO, I don't understand what that is for. I did not see it listed in the "Users Guide" or I'm not understanding what I'm reading. While I'm typing this it dawns on me that perhaps I don't have the latest "Users Guide"......I will check in to that.
In the meantime, can someone tell me what that number is for?
Thank you, Jeff
*****EDIT******
I believe the "0" mentioned above might be typing errors in the "items.cfg" file. Reading further down in the manual where it lists some examples, this particular number is left out.?. Could someone comfirm this please? If it is a typing error then it is in several of the entries that have a airport.
Thank you again, Jeff

That actually turns out to be a feature that was added and didn't get documented in the User Guide.
The correct optional parameters after the Minimum Runway are:
Field 9: Specialty Code - currently this is 0 for none or 1 for medical. (THIS IS THE ONE THAT WAS MISSING FROM THE USER GUIDE).
Field 10: Season (as documented)
Field 11: Zone (as documented)
Field 12: Affinity Airport (as documented)
Field 13: Affinity Distance (as documented)
Sorry for the error it will be corrected in the next printing.

Ah cool. More options to play with! Thanks for the quick response. I'm having so much fun with this. The guys at the camps are now getting much needed items like Kegs of Bourbon and crates of toilet paper lol. I like to use the Carenado Super Cargo Master and after getting the aircraft configured correctly in FSCaptain I find I'm spending a fair amount of time dreaming up what I can ship next. Great program!
Thanks, Jeff

Hi Jeff, In my P3D career, I too seem to favor the trusty old C208 to take short hops of PAX & cargo. If you (or anyone!) might have some special items that you'd be willing to share with other Captains, pop us an email with your items and we may roll them into a future version. (I'm currently picking up crates of Vermouth from the Chambery region of France every so often. )

Yes I'll be glad to share items that I've come up with. I'm still trying to figure some of this out though. I Do have a question for you. I seem to be having difficulty with special flags not working. I have a couple of Oil Drilling Sites I created with difficult landings so I thought I would create a fragile item like boxes of Core Samples like the following...... 10-50,700,0-3,1,Box,es,Core Samples,1000,0,0,0,AOR2,10 If I have the special flag set to "0" then the item is in the manifest like it is supposed to be, PAX and Cargo. But with the special flag set to "1" (fragile), it will not show up in the manifest for any PAX flights. It may show up sometimes on strickly a Cargo flight. I am currently testing this with the Carenado C208 Grand Caravan and Super Cargo Master so have plenty of places to put these boxes. Perhaps I am not understanding "special conditions" that need to be met? I will go back thru the Users Guide to see if I've missed anything. Any help is greatly appreciated Thanks, Jeff

Jeff,
That will need Dutch's attention for a proper answer, since I've not done terribly much with cargo-only flights of late, but I can expect that certain items might be limited to specific types of flights.
For instance, adding an "8" to the special code would limit an item to a PAX flight... that's to ensure a doctor/nurse attends a Patient. Etc.
So for now leave the flag at "0" and we'll see what's what late next week.

Cool, will be interesting to find out what I'm doing wrong or missing. I'm usually persistent enough to work my way thru problems but can't get this one figured out. I've tried adding 8 to see if it would show up in the manifest for a PAX flight but didn't work. I've also tried Charter and flights with a departure and arrival time but that didn't make a difference. But I'm hard headed enough I will keep trying until we hear from Dutch. Very Very handy that it can be opened with Excel and then saved as a comma delimited csv (or whatever they call it) file! Makes adding and modifying entries very easy. Just started hauling cases of beer lol. After a good day of hunting everyone likes to sit around the fire and have a beer to unwind.

After a good day of hunting everyone likes to sit around the fire and have a beer to unwind. Aye, in my younger days that was an event to look forward to. Now that I've turned gray, I tend to making pitchers of martinis for my mates to signal the end of a nice day/week....

a small break-through...........in my "Airlines" config page I saw "Cargo / Special" percentage settings and with adjusting that I can get cargo with special flags such as "fragile" and "priority" to show up regularly on a strickly cargo flight.
still not getting special flags to show up on a passenger flight for any of the cargo, so was wondering if that was even an option on a passenger flight? Maybe the fact that you have passengers "IS" the special flag? I was trying to have some "Fragile" and/or "Priority" items show up in the cargo of my C208 Grand Caravan along with the passengers.
Wondering if I need to have something besides "0" in the "Special/Medical" field in the Items.cfg? Or if you could post a quick explanation of what the numbers in the "Special/Medical" field would mean?
Thanks again, Jeff

The "special" flag is only available for cargo flights.
The "special/medical" flag is used to select items only for airlines with the "medical" flag set. Set it to 1 to enable this. Those items won't be allowed for any other airline.

Cool, thanks for the response. Kind of the conclusion I had come to while messing around with the file. I'm having a blast modifying the Items.cfg file! Now to try my hand at some Medical flights, those Hunters keep injuring themselves Thanks again! Jeff
