Hello, i downloaded 1.5.0 (BETA 4). As soon as i try to access the "Weather Options", i get the message that the Admin for FS Captain stopped working. Everything else "seems" to work for now. I'm using the program with Prepar3d v2. My other addons for Prepar3d are FTX Global, REX Essential Plus Overdrive and PFPX. Windows Version is 8.1 Pro with Media Center. Windows and all drivers are fully updated. Anyone else with the same problem? Just uninstalled the program, and reinstalled the full BETA 4. No more CTD for the moment. I had installed BETA 3, and updated to BETA 4 before. Don't know, if that was the reason for the CTD, though.

I had a look in P3D2 and haven't seen a CTD related to Wx options in Admin. Let us know if anything reappears. Could have been some kind of initialization issue. Anyone else see this?

Astarot, Upgrading to B4 from a full B3 shouldn't be a problem. But then again such a CTD as you describe shouldn't be either. If you or anyone see something like this (a crash reported through Windows) please email or PM the text from Windows' Event Log - Application and any recent logfiles from \FSCaptain\Data\Logs

Hello, I am not a Beta tester, but I saw this post and have this issue. When I click on Weather Options, the program locks up immediately and I have to close. I just purchased 1.05.00 today and am just getting it set up.

Those that are getting this option, please find and post the contents of the file named "Externals.cfg" in your FSCaptain\Config folder.
Thanks Dutch

ok: after erasing all the entries in that file, just keeping the line refering to ASN...no more CTD

First...I am running ASNext on a laptop client and ASNext is not installed on the server.
I tried this and it didn't work for me. Strangely, after I put the original Externals folder back in it worked. However, when I clicked on ASNext for the weather, the path that autoloaded did not exist. I did find a path on the server to AppData\Roaming\Microsoft\FSX\wxstationlist.BIN. When I used that and tested the connections, I got the "congratulations, data found and readable" message. However, when I "get weather" from the administrator, it says "no winds aloft data", which makes sense.
So.....do I need to download FSX weather, including winds aloft, for the planning in the administrator, then start ASNext and FSX? Or can I run the administrator after I've stated ASN and FSX and is there a file that includes winds aloft? I would prefer to get all my weather from ASN. Otherwise the FSX weather and ASN weather may not agree. I have FSX weather turned off now.

Everyone who is having these CTD errors, please post or email us your Windows Regional Settings - for example Dutch and I are both EN-US.
Also, please include any text from your Windows Event Logs that is associated with a CTD. We've not received any Event Log data on this issue yet.

Alas, it doesn't crash on me...anyone who's getting the crashes could help by isolating which line or lines in the Externals.cfg is causing it.
Edit the file and put a ; (semicolon) in front of the first line (this disables it). Then try the Weather Options. If it doesn't crash, un-comment (remove the ; semicolon) and try again and verify that it does. If so, we know which line is causing it, which is a huge clue to me.
If it doesn't crash, remove the ; from the first line and place it in front of the second one and try again. Repeat until we find the cause of the crash.
I note bandini was able to get around the problem by erasing all the lines except the ASN one, so I believe it's a combination of local settings plus one particular line in this file that's braking it.
