So, you're a MSFS user who has read about FSCaptain, but feel that since you're not a customer that you can't participate in our Beta Release program? Well of course you can!
First, grab the User Guide to read how to install FSCaptain, see how light it is on your system. Then look at the Passenger Flight Tutorial to see how FSCaptain works with a revenue-generating passenger flight.
The current User Guide is available here.
The current Passenger Flight Tutorial is available here.
Then download the current full release of FSCaptain, and install into your main flight-simulator folder. It will create a folder named \FSCaptain within there, and add some gauges to your \Gauges folder, and add MakeRunways 4.675 to your main folder.
The current full release build is available here.
As of August 2017 this 32-bit version can only be used by FS9, FSX and P3D versions 2 and 3. It will not work properly with Prepar3D Version 4 and should not be installed there.
If you already have a prior version of FSCaptain installed, just download the latest "Fixpack" - it's what we call a "service pack" except we don't... we call it a "Fixpack" instead. Install that into your flight-simulator folder just as you did the full release. It will update \FSCaptain, \Gauges, \Modules, and add the latest version of MakeRunways.

Both of these installs will also add a .dll to your \Modules folder which is for FS9 compatibility, so if you're running FSX or P3D you can manually remove that file if you'd like.
Then, follow the instructions in the User Guide to add yourself as a qualified pilot and pick an airline to fly for - real or imaginary... it's all up to you. Start booking flights from either of these six airports - EGCC, EGGD, EGJJ, KSEA, KOLM or KPDX to anywhere in the world. There's no time limit or a limit on how many free flights you can make.
My signature will indicate the version of FSCaptain which I'm currently using. It's highly likely that it's a version that's not yet available to the public, so if you see that I'm using "n.n.n Beta 2" then you can bet that "n.n.n Beta 1" is available for your testing.
