Hello, what about using Android Tablet & Ipad for FCOM or maybe mobile phone. It will be cool i think. I already know that there is an application which allows you to use your ipad or android tablet as secondary screen... mine is only an idea

One of the Big New Features coming in FS Captain version 1.4 is to be a "remote FCOM" that would not need to be a MSFS gauge. Now I'm a lowly .Net developer by day so I couldn't even begin an IOS or Android front end. But assuming that FS Captain is only offered in a Windows display format, there are solutions that let remote tablet users "extend their desktop" onto a tablet.
Would that be sufficient??

That would be good!
A webpage fcom would be even better. That way it will work on any smartphones / tablets / Laptops

Depending on how external Windows FCOM works out, that might be practical sometime in the future. Would be cool, for sure.

Aerosoft seems big on running a small webserver from their MSFS add-ons to deliver data remotely... "http over LAN." Now that would be nice. I wonder if there's some standard hoodoo that could be employed???

Just wondering, any future plans in this? I know (and tested) there's a remote FCOM but it runs on Windows. It would be nice to have this running on Android. I'm using the Virtual CDU from Virtual Avionics on my android tablet for my pmdg 737 and it works very very well. Maybe you could work together with those guys? Just a thought Cheers Luc

Hi Luc,
as far as I know there are currently no plans to write a dedicated Android program for FSCaptain. However, it might be that in the distant future FSCaptain may run via a web interface, which would enable universal access. This would certainly only be the case for the FCDU, though. The FCOM is outdated and only kept for compatibility reasons.
Cheers, Peter

Hi Peter, I actually meant FCDU :-) And yes, a web interface would be the way to go, universal as you rightfully stated. Cheers, Luc

Hi Peter, so, yesterday I re-installed FScaptain (1.7.3 b2) after fine tuning my FS installation. I didn't do any flights yet, I have to start all over from scratch, so I will have to go through the tutorial again. Anyway, back to the topic, I managed to find an intermediate solution to have the FCDU "running" om my tablet. Actually it's not really running on it, I'm using Microsoft Remote Control on my tablet and now I have a desktop of my PC on my tablet. There I can start and use FCDU on my tablet, so that to me is already a big step forward. (I also have the FCDU of PMDG 737ngx running on the same tablet) So Xmas is around the corner ;-) (you feel me coming LOL) and I want to ask you guys a favor if you ever find some time. Would it be possible to give some parameter to 1) turn the FCDU clock or anti-clock wise 2) Resize the FCDU Reason I ask is that the Microsoft Remote controller only works in landscape mode and can't be zoomed. So if I can turn the FCDU 90° and resize it to the almost the size of my desktop than it would be great. I know, it's kind of a weird request, just tempting my luck ;-) Cheers, Luc

I am torn between 'this may not be possible' and 'it is only a matter of telling Windows to draw sideways' so I will present this to Dutch to see if there is a quick and easy answer. Lacking such a quick and easy answer, I think this might be difficult. But we shall see. Regards,

I couldn't (dare) to ask for more Travis, just have a look to see what is possible. But being able to increase the size would already be very helpful. Cheers, Luc

Hi Travis, good news! I just updated the MSremoteDesktop on my tablet and now I can go into portrait mode. Half of the problem solved! However, if you would have some spare time (what am I thinking!?, I know) could you please see if it would be possible to make the size of the FCDU adjustable (make it bigger)? Thanks, Luc

Hi Luc, We have your crash files and I'll review them after my very late Friday lunch. I'll have to bring Dutch in on this - I'm still a newbie when it comes to Win32 programming. If it is even possible, we may look to do so for the 'next version' of FSCaptain. Since everything outside of the "display screen" is a bitmap, if it were possible to 'scale everything up' then it could be that the bitmap would look pixelated or gross. But by rights I shouldn't even speculate. There's doubtfully gobs of things that I'm not aware of.... Regards

A web page-based remote access would be perfect for this application! Especially for folks who fly planes with multiple gauges that look similar already! Just adding my vote and hopes for this. Thank you guys for being so open minded and receptive.
