Hello,
I have some ideas for the product...
Could we please have the ability to alter the hours and score required for promotion, i wanted to make the highest ranks very very hard to get in my airline?
No offence, but i don't like the voices for the cabin crew or co-pilots, they sound completely out of place with British Airways, i assume that you are both from Texas? I would like to be able to supress the voices and have a text output from both the co-pilot (through the FCOM or fs message) and the cabin crew.
Could we please have a random passenger load time without the Ticks method, i envisage this being per type of plane and between two times, for example Large: 5mins - 15 mins preferable configurable.
How about a new "type" of flights, so we would have scheduled flights, charter and perhaps urgent or priority, these would have strict requirements (including ranks) but pay more. These could be things like government flights or humanitarian flights. Perhaps this could be taken further and (configurable) you could have compulsory flights.
Perhaps this is already in place but i would like to have the option to fly cargo flights even if the airline is Passenger based, again this could tie in nicely with the above suggestion.
I love the product and without a doubt the support. These are just things i think would make it better, perhaps other people will say not.
Thanks Ian

Hi Ian, First, these are nice ideas. I think the hours needed for promotion are hard-coded, so changing that would take some re-tooling. The idea of new types of flights are interesting and I'd like to see new types being a reward for higher ranking. I'd venture to say that any "compulsory" flights would be a user-selectable option, but I can live with the option that every so often I should be asked to take a certain flight. (Within reason... I'd want it to not assign me a flight for a type I wasn't rated on... or if it would violate a "fatigue factor", etc.) My standard airline is passenger-oriented, but I can choose cargo flights from both the Admin and FCOM when I want to. Are you being prevented from doing such? The current voices are all we have to work with. Dutch is on the Atlantic coast and I'm on the Pacific, so Texas would represent the mid-point or average of our locations. Maybe we unconsciously recorded our lines in a Chuck Yeager-ish style but that's the norm in our half-hemisphere. However if anyone would like to work on a new set of FO or FA voices, please feel free to check out the "Roles" documentation and contact Dutch or me for recording tips. All you need is some free time, a good microphone, and a freeware recording tool.

Thank you for your reply, everything considered i am always stunned that this add on is not more popular, the support is really first class as is the product itself. I am not being prevented from having cargo flights, i haven't actually checked, i haven't seen any cargo flights. The reason i ask is that i purchased the CS707 and the cargo add on, i was wanting to take the old bird up on a run to Istfahan, Iran Air still fly them and i had the good fortune 3 years ago to fly from Tehran too Istfahan on an old 707. I thought that this once BA could fly from Dubai to Istfahan.
I meant no offence about the voices, it's just out of place in my airline. I think it would sound odd having my voice.
Thanks for your responses

No offence taken!!
And as for cargo flights, you only have to request them from the Admin or FCOM. I think for PAX airlines, PAX flights are returned by default. (Although I'm not sure if changing to a Cargo-oriented airline would default to Cargo flights or not.)

hey all, been silent for 2 months. I would like to see a visual marker in place for the assigned parking. Another option would be somehow changing ( intercepting) the gate assigned by the ATC to the one FSC assigns. I would like to see an improved flight plan importer so that AI flight plans can now smoothly integrate with FSC without missing legs etc... Just to brush the dust off this topic; "Noise abatement" if any progress has been made. Another thing is weight restrictions at airports. (see previous posts for details) Lastly, a save function would be greatly appreciated. My flight to Hong Kong from Vancouver would be able to take as many days as I please instead of one day ( with or without time accel). It's nice to be back. Been busy these few months with only enough time to view posts and not reply. Dutch, Travis cheers

Hi ysfsim,
Of the things you mention two are planned for 1.4, the save function and the visual indication of the gate. It may not be possible to get both into that release, in that case the save will be the priority.
On the "finding your parking space" front if you have FSX, then GSX is a great way to solve that problem and have a nice realism boost to boot. But of course it costs extra. One day we hope to be able to interface to their as-yet-undetermined API.
MS did not expose the portions of their program concerning gate assignment from their ATC so I doubt anything can be done to intercept that internal operation.

As for noise abatement and weight restrictions, they (and all other "simulation features") are still on the drawing board for a future version.
1.3.1 was intended to be mostly bug fixes. The next version, as Dutch has noted, will be occupied with more "architectural features" such as Save/Restore, possibly FS Captain Sans Gauge, and possibly some sort of a "Hey, Park Here" assistance.

Okay, I can live with that. By the way, I heard that you could put out some peanut butter to attract bugs. That is the quickest way to catch 'em ;D

Then I'm the biggest bug around. I literally can't keep any Jif stocked; if a jar makes it into the house, it's emptied PDQ....

Here is a thought: How about adding a function to allow you to make legged flights or tech stops? This feature should be in both the FCOM and dispatch. Thoughts?

What would such legs offer? You've always had the ability to make stops for refuling, etc. For instance if you were flying SFO to JFK and wanted to stop a MCI to treat your FO to a nice porterhouse (trust me, he'd thank you! ), just land and take off again. (You'd have to keep MSFS running though... that is until save-and-restore is implemented.)

Ya I was mildly aware that you can make unscheduled stops. I would like to know if the eta is updated if you do? BTW the reason I asked for legged flights: American has flights from Miami to Buenos Aires then Montevideo and back. The same for Miami to La Paz then Santa Cruz and back. I am sure people get on and off at those stops, which are not tech stops. happy trails

Ah... then you want a multi-leg flight. You can set those up in the Administrator as a scheduled flight, and with 1.3.1 you can plan out your route and generate a release and manifest ahead of time.
I don't think you can get multi-leg flights as a random charter flight, but I may be wrong....
Here's a Miami - Buenos Aires - Montevideo - Miami flight that's scheduled to leave out at 0800 Eastern:
Flight=762,KMIA,SAEZ,3,800,0,SUMU,KMIA,,, Expand=762,,0,2,0,-1,-1,0,-1,2
Or you could have one outbound flight and one return flight that leaves the next morning at 0759:
Flight=762,KMIA,SAEZ,3,800,0,SUMU,,,, Expand=762,,0,2,0,-1,-1 Flight=763,SUMU,KMIA,3,759,0,,,,, Expand=763,,0,2

Also for me it's very important a save/restore function. I fly mostly mid/long haul flights and do those in various step, not in one shot.
Does 1.3.1 has thie feature or we have to wait for 1.4?
I haven't yet purchased FS Capatain, so in the 1.3.1 or 1.4 demo wil be available this feature?
Thanks, Riccardo

Save/Restore capability will be in 1.4, it is not in 1.3.1.
