I created FedEx as one of my companies again by importing the Alpha India schedule and made some adjustments in the airline configuration. I was ready to jump from PAX to Cargo for a change.
Last night I decided to load up the 727 at KMEM. It was a partly overcast night and I looked through the FSCOM for a short flight and found one to KIND. I accepted the flight and loaded up the flightplan and began to prep the plane as the cargo was loading.
While running through my checklist I had a message pop-up from company warning me about thunderstroms in the area at KIND. Knowing what happened to me last time flying into Zurich I checked my alternate airport and looked over the weather information again.
After the plane was finished loading and we obtained taxi clearance I was ready for push-back, however company informed me I was on a weather hold because of weather policy - minimals at KIND. So I sat and waited and crossed checked some items. After a short period I contacted company and was released to fly, of course they noted at my request.
The rest of the flight was pretty routine outside some turbulence and by the time we arrived at KIND the storms had moved out of the area and we were approved to land by company.
I really like the extra touches when flying with FSC as you never know what my pop-up and the extra touches are nice. I am planning on putting together a play action post with images for those who read these but want a better picture of what FSC looks like and how it works on a typical flight. ;- )
