FWIW, I've had this exact same issue with Fs9. I found if I load any aircraft that has the FCDU installed my frame rates would immediately drop to almost zero. If I went back to the aircrafts original panel, all would go back to normal. This started with my upgrade to 1.82. since I saw no other reports of this issue,I figured I must've "broke" something and just stopped using FSCaptain. Now that I see someone eklse is experiencing the same issue in FSX, I thought I'd chime in.
Thanks
rpm.

RPM,
I wish you had mentioned this at the time. IIRC, it was 1.8.2 where I "fixed" some of the micro-stuttering issues you reported, so I'm at a loss to explain this. (Surely the two can't be connected???)
There have been other FS9 Captains who have reported glacial FPS values until they log in to Dispatch. Is your situation the same, or is it like CAT's who has <1 FPS no matter what happens?
I'll ask you for the same FCDU and FSCaptain logs as I've asked other FPS-afflicted Captains. Start a flight at some middle-of-nowhere airport with an aircraft that has an FCDU gauge... but do nothing for several minutes. Make a note of your FPS and your PC's time and then open the FCDU panel window and do nothing more for several more minutes. Then make another note of your FPS and your PC's time and log in to Dispatch. Wait a few more minutes and make a final note of your FPS and PC time. Then send me the FCDU and FSCaptain logs along with your FPS/time notes.
The noted PC times will let me cross check with your FCDU and FSCaptain logs to see if anything jumps out for attention.
Best,

One other question for everyone who has this problem: what's your PC's screen resolution, and what's your simulator's screen resolution??
Best regards,

PC Screen Resolution 2560 x 1080. Full screen Sim resolution 2560 x1080 x32. Frame rate Unlimited. Filtering Trilinear. I don't run the sim on full screen, i have it 2/3 of the screen and use the rest of the realstate for other pop outs.

Hee hee... when I use the FCDU.EXE, I have my P3D window to be my PC's full width minus the width of my FCDU.
That leaves me the screen real estate to have my EFB window (behind my P3D and FCDU) available for "peeking". -----
I have a guess of an idea of what might be this cause, but I need to get Release Candidate out first so I can attempt moderate code surgery to render a test build.
Best,

Greetings Travis,
Wanted to resurrect this issue. I upgraded to 1.8.4 and I am still having the same issue. Starting off the FPS is around 29. Sim performs well, so I load the FCDU. It is still at around fps 30. When I click the On button the FPS freezes and then drops to below 1 more 0.2. If I use the exe it works fine. I created a video of the issue, please let me know where I can upload it. Also, if I pause the sim then the FPS returns to 29. However, once the FCDU is turned on or off the FPS still below 1.0.

Greetings CAT,
Thanks for the logs. I'll review them and your video in my afternoon.
