Why is it when trying to schedule an airlines flight it wont save the unique flight number assigned to it? I was going to over a long period of time add all of the routes used by my virtual airlines but FS Captain refuses to let you save a flight number, it automatically changes it to be in sequence with the previous flight. If you create flight 1218 then try to create flight 1992 it will change 1992 to 1219. The more I use the program the more I wish I had kept my wallet shut. There was a lot of hype about the support here and initially I saw some so I thought it was the norm not the exception? Disappointing

Have you tried manually opening the schedule file with notepad and changing the flight number that way?
Instead of manually creating a schedule via the Administrator, I created my schedules in Excel spreadsheet and saved it as a text file. And then modified the text so that FSCap could read it. --

Instead of manually creating a schedule via the Administrator, I created my schedules in Excel spreadsheet and saved it as a text file. And then modified the text so that FSCap could read it. -- That sort of defeats the purpose of having the option in the administrator doesn't it? I appreciate your help I'll continue to mess around with it but it would be nice if it worked as advertised.

If you create flight 1218 then try to create flight 1992 it will change 1992 to 1219. Works fine over here, somethings wrong on your end. I think theres been issues with Windows 7 and stuff not saving properly. Dont go completely off what I say about W7 tho, its just what I have heard. I've had issues with stuff not saving on my end too(Not in the sched tho) so I just go to the text file and edit it. Ya, its kind of a PITA, but atleast you can manually get it working.

Disappointing My thoughts exactly! The ongoing development and support were the main factors I switched from FSPaX to FSCaptain but now I'm realizing that FSPaX forums are more active than this one and it's not much going on over there. FSCaptain has a lot of potential and I'd be a happy camper if the support would be better here since I'm having some problems. Now, I'll go to talk to myself over to the speedcalls thread

Sorry anyone is disappointed with the support. Some problems are just quite difficult to address when I'm not able to set up the exact situation here with my setup -- it's frustrating for me to get reports of problems but when I try it the problem doesn't happen.
This is caused by the complexity of all the possible configurations out there -- particularly the situations introduced by windows 7.
This is not an excuse, just a reality in the computer industry mainly in the Windows environment.
The problem with it not saving the flight number is just a bug, I have reproduced that one and it will be fixed in the next release.
