Just a quick question: IIRC FSCAI includes also guns that don´t fire in flight direction, but to the sides and the rear. Are they firing directly at a 180 degree and +90 / -90 degree to the front axis? Or are they "moveable" and adjust towards a target like the WWII-gun positions on bombers?

The guns that can be attached to bombers can be defined as front, rear, or either side facing, and they will fire at anything in their zone. If you define all four on a bomber you will get 360 degrees of gun coverage around it.
Here is a B-17 with guns all around: B-17,B17,Aircraft,1,5,180,180,LB,50FRONT,50REAR,50LEFT,50RIGHT,M64-12B Here is a Stuka with only a rear gun: JU-87,JU87,Aircraft,1,0,170,180,DB,17REAR,M64,MK81-4,,,,,

So they are behaving like they have a gunner aiming them at their target? They are "guided"? And they only work against aerial targets, right?

I ask because I see the possibility to have door gunners on helicopters, or even the basic functionality of a gunship lke the AC-130U or the older ones, AC-47 and AC-119.

HAJO That's right, they should engage any air target within their range and within their assigned zone. You don't see tracers but they can hit the target. Try flying close and slow behind an enemy B-17 and see what happens. But, no, they won't engage ground targets. Dutch

Would it be possible to make A2G guns available?

HAJO Tacpack also allow for guns that fire to any azimuth/elevation you want. I haven't tried it yet, but at some point I'm going to try to add side firing guns to the Alphasim AC-130 and AC-119 models. The tough thing will be in making usable gun sights for them.

I have seen mods of that movable guns (I had downloaded an Agusta A-129 Attack Helo), but the overall principle is still a bit wobbly, I think. I also know a guy who did modifications for an AC-130, don´t know how far his progress had come.

A quick question relating to this topic ....
What would be the best setting to add a dorsal/top turret to a bomber? (or for that matter a ventral/bottom turret)
I tried to modify one of the existing 50cal entries to create a 50TOP but I'm struggling to confirm that it's working .... the bad guys don't seem to want to attack in the right place :-) Plus AFAIK I can only assign a 180deg azimuth value when in theory it can rotate a full 360, although I could simply add 2 of these to give 360 coverage.
Thanks
