Question? About the FCOM Audio messages? When I loaded the Dutch Acme DC-3C and signed in with dispatcher. I got a welcome messages? and some audio messages during flight. On other DC3-C planes I installed the FCOM and signed on but no audio messages? during the flight. Thanks for any info Lane

Your FO and the FA's should be talking to you in almost any flight with an airplane large enough, which are most of them. Certainly a DC-3 has an FO and 1 FA. Anything as large or larger should have them.
Which airplanes don't have voice audio? I need to get to the bottom of this, it's a real surprise. Nothing about an airplane should suppress voice messages except a characteristics page that says it doesn't have an FO or FA.
The only other DC-3s I fly besides the 3C are the default for testing and the MAAM-SIM one.

Thanks Dutch, I will check out the Characteristics page for the FO or FA settings. Last night I was flying one of my DC3 that I have installed from DC3Airways I was called DC-3NH with gyro Panel I installed the FCOM and made a short cargo ferrie flg. 95 miles. I will check again tonight about the audio voice, and my other planes that have the FCOM I am sure the ones that you installed the FCOM. had audio. Will check later tonight Regards Lane

Just checked Planes with FCOM added. All have audio voice. but one? I installed FCOM on a Douglas DC3NH-Gyro plane and panel. turn pwr and check in. No Audio message? Shift-3 brings up FCOM I flew a short Ferry flight last night 95 miles from KIND to KHUF. FCOM seem to work fine just no audio? If you want to install plane and panel and check it is under FS9 planes NH panel and DC3. over at dc3airways.com Lane

You're required to alert the cabin crew before takeoff and before landing. I do it as soon as I hear the clearance from ATC, that helps me to remember to send the alert. There's two ways to do it.
On the FCOM, use F4 to get to the Communications screen, then press F7 to alert the crew. If you're on the ground, this will alert them to takeoff; if you're in the air and descending it will alert them to landing eminent.
You will know they got the message when you hear them announce to the passengers that takeoff/landing is eminent.
Another way - more like the real world - is to toggle the 'no smoking' switch once. Click it off - wait a half second - click it on. But this will only work if FSCaptain can detect the smoking sign. This will work on the DC-3C because the interface hooks the plane to FSC. It will work on any FSX airplane that properly toggles the no smoking sign attribute of FSX (many of the default airplanes in FSX do.) There's an aircraft characteristic that tells FSC whether the belt signs work or not. If that isn't checked then the no smoking toggle scheme won't work.
You can always do it with the FCOM however.
Hope this helps, Dutch
