Hi there!
Well, let me introduce myself first! My name is Israel and I've discovered fsc today by browsing simmarket. As soon as I started reading I thought... WOW this addon is right for me so I downloaded it....
I've tried the demo and I got really impressed by the fcom and the whole idea of this addon although it got really frustating after 5 minutes.
Im running windows 7 on an Intel Core duo E4500 @ 2.2 with 3 gb RAM and 1GB Geforce.
Well, I have tried three times flying from the very beginning. It seems everything works fine at first but suddenly randomly FCOM gets really nasty, it gets stuck and on one ocasion it stucked my fs, the whole computer does not froze but just the FCOM.
I am really upset since I really like these sort of addons and I get frustated!!!
I did not manage to do an entire flight.
Got to note that this may not cause a direct CTD but it's a matter of FCOM getting sort of stuck. I have got sp2 installed on fsx and also solved out the problem with the UiautomationCore.dll file which was giving CTD on vista and 7.
Has anyone experienced this?
Thanks very much all for your help Israel

Israel,
I'm not experiencing the same issue as you. I also have Windows 7 but the x64 version.
If the issue happens only when FCOM is open then there might be a chance that is a corrupted installation. Try uninstalling it and ensuring the FSCaptain data have been removed, then reboot, then install FSCaptain again and reboot. Finally, give it a run.
Also, you can check if this happens with ALL the planes (Default and/or Payware) as there could be a leaky app running in an add-on that could be the source of the problem if all fails...

Israel,
Hehe... I couldn't resist either and bought it once I validated that most of my add-ons were working decently with it.

Hi Isreal,
Sorry you are having problems. I hate that anyone has them.
Unfortunately, it looks like you have one of the 'rare problems' which are hard to track down since they are rare. That doesn't mean we can't find it, but there's something different about your installation that's not typical.
The first thing to try -- and believe it or not this will often fix the problem -- try the uninstall and re-install the whole thing. If you're already tried this and it didn't work, no need to try again. It shouldn't take long to install/re-install - a couple of minutes at most.
Many windows 7/Vista problems are caused by security settings. Are you running with administrator privledges?
We'll keep working with this until we have you fixed.
