Good evening,
Is there a way to adjust the calculated fuel once a mission/destination is taken?
Brief history, I find that FSCaptain does a pretty good job at calculating the fuel needed, but unfortunately due to variables as head winds and such variables that delay a flight that you find yourself with just enough fuel to land (that's flying right on the CRZ speed listed on the plane configuration file)... this is keeping in mind that you are lucky at not getting a "GA" due to activity in the runway.
Also, it is a bit impossible (I would think) to figure out the taxi time on a given airport as all airports are different and such, so you could end up with more or less gas at your arriving destination. I've noticed that I have to increase the ETE by 10 to 15 min in order to make it on time once I land in order to taxi to parking/gate (specially when I have a flight with a pretty good head wind). This increases my fuel slightly. Which is I'm pretty sure is why we're allow to edit the ETEs.
Finally, I use FSCommander which also calculates Fuel and its calculation are not too far off from FSCaptain but enough that I've actually noticed that FSCommander's calculation are a bit more in par with what I would actually need. Don't get me wrong... FSCaptain as I stated before does a real good job at it, but just would like to be able to adjust the fuel, just as I do with the ETE.
Hope to hear some good/bad news... also comments, suggestions are welcomed. I sure like the way FSCaptain plans it out as it betters you at fuel management (keeping costs down hehe)
