HI, I experienced a major engine 1 failure, loss of power, then both generators out, unable to fix the the problem, unable to restart engine 1, then engine 1 in fire, then loss of control , and crash and no failure reported in FCOM!!! I have no idea about what caused this major failure. I wish FCOM would have told me

In the administrator there is a tick box option to "display failure codes on fcom" Just checking that you have got it set so it will display?

Hi yankeegolf, Say you lost a engine on the DC3C. On TO? Cruise? Landing? Just wondering what Failure Mode you had Set? Most of time I leave mine on Default Random. I suspect you have read the manual on the DC3-C on the three Random Failures you can set. When I first started testing I flew a flight from KSFO to KLAX I never made it. I can't remember but I notice after I was at Cruise Alt and on Auto-Pilot I notice one of the engine readings Looked Weird Prop was spinning. I did not Feather. but made a landing at nearest Airport. As soon as I landed the engine went dead. I think the FCOM said engine failure? I cant remember I think I was Beta testing.FSC Don't remember what version? "OH" Also check your Circuit Breaker Panel. Some times they will Open when you have a Gen or electric overload. And like dazaxiii said set the FCOM to display failure Codes. Lane

hi guys, Thank you for your replies. Yes the failures reported to FCOM option was selected. I've been using FS captain since it was released and I did not fall in this trap I was in cruise. I checked everything in the DC3C and reduced the electrical load to the minimum but both breakers went off. Even though I have been flying the DC3C since it was released, I know it quite well by now, I still consider that I may have overlooked something. It is the fact that FCOM did not tell me anything about my predicament that bothers me. I ended up as a part of the landscape The DC3C is a great aircraft.

The DC-3C doesn't consider an overload to be a failure. It probably should if the reset doesn't work.
That makes two problems in the DC-3C electrical system report, Lane's battery rundown (that never happens to me, does it to you Yankee?) and this.

Hi, When I had my major problems, I had an engine loss of power which resulted in an electrical overload without my being able to reset the generators, then the aircraft was on battery power which ran down and then I had an engine fire which I was able to put out with the extinguisher (or I think so) and finally the flight controls did not respond. Eventually I had a meeting with the ground. The only help that I got from my FO was that stupid question what are you doing? (tongue in cheek). At least I am still alive to tell you what happened to me ;D No failure message... cheers

Yep, there's a few spots where the failures aren't reported. I found two...there may be more. Still looking.
