Hello Dutch,
can you tell me the area, from ..... until ...... I need to set the QNH to standard, and setting the landing light on? Because everytime after the flight I got the advice, Altimeter not STD over FL 18k. In my company settings I have mark 5000 fts. I hope we can solve this problem, that I got no negative advice.
Thx. Rober.

The transition altitude (in feet) is set for each airline on the airline definitions tab. The FCOM checks to see that if you are over it by 900 feet or more, that your altimeter is set to standard pressure (1013MB or 29.92HG).
If this is causing you a problem you can disable it. In the FSCaptain\Config folder there is a file called Options.cfg. In that is a line reading DISABLESTD=0 ... change the 0 to a 1 and save the file, and you should never see another 'altimeter not set to standard' penalty.
Hope this helps, Dutch

Hello Dutch, sorry not correctly, but I will give you another question due to your answer. If I understand you correct, the area to set the QNH to standard is for my example. 5000 until 5900 feets. Then I got no negative advice. Is this correct? And the other one is to know the area for settings the landing lights on or off? Thx for help. LG Rober.

Both the standard setting above transition altitude, and the landing lights setting on boelow 10,000 feet will not trigger the penalty until you go 900 feet above (or below in the case of the landing lights), so you have time to flip the switch when you are climbing or descending.

Hello Dutch, I have checked it. I have concentrate myself for doing to set the lights and the QNH to the correct time. But in the Log Entry Details there is now: Lights not set proberly (-5). Altimeter not STD over 18K (-5). So something is not working correct? So my question is : When you set the lights on, and when off? When setting the QNH to standard? And I think I am not a beginner. Flying PMDG 747, FSX, Windows 7, I7, all Saitek instruments, 4 Monitors with crossfire. Everything is working fine. Only this 2 thinks are confusing me. So I hhope you can help me. Thx. Rober. I think you don't need to solve it this year. Come good into 2010.

There appears to be an issue with the landing or nav lights signal with the PMDG 747-400 and I don't know why yet. I recommend turning off the lights policy for your airline until we resolve this if you use that aircraft, and to disable the altimeter penalty too.
Assuming the signals are working correctly from FS9/X to FSCaptain the rules are actually quite simple. You get a lights penalty under 3 conditions:
1. Your NAV lights are off and you leave the ground.
2. You go above 10,900 feet indicated altitude and your landing lights are on.
3. You go below 9,100 feet indicated altitude and your landing lights are off.
For the altimeter setting penalty there is only one rule: if you are 900 feet or more above the transition altitude defined for the airline and your altimeter is not set to standard pressure.
I recommend disabling this penalty by editing the file FSCaptain\Config\Options.txt with Notepad and changing the line:
DISABLESTD=0
to
DISABLESTD=1
and saving the file.
Hope this helps, Dutch
