I don't think you are doing anything wrong. Let's figure it out. Which airplane and airport?

There are three possibilities. I'll list them in order of probability based on experience so far.
1. If you are using Vista or Windows 7, it's probably a security related problem. The solution is to run as administrator on the machine or disable UAC.
2. It's possible that your installation somehow got messed up. I have seen a re-download and re-install correct this kind of problem.
3. If could be a bug in FSCaptain. But every time I've tracked down a mysterious shutdown situation it's been one of the other two so far. Let's try and eliminate them first.
Hope this helps, Dutch

FS9 no longer shuts down but the FCOM window is black. It seems like I readed about that in the form but cant find it now.

Getting closer...
There's too possibilities I can think of. First, do you have these two files in your <flight simulator>\Gauges folder: FCOM.gau and FCOM9.gau?
If those two are there then the installer didn't configure the panel.cfg properly. In this case could you send me the panel.cfg from the airplane you are trying to use (to dutch@fscaptain.net).
If those two aren't there, why not? Try a re-install and check to see if they appear. If they aren't there right after a re-install let me know.
There usually aren't security problems under Windows XP but they can happen.
Hope this helps, Dutch
